*18 JANUARY 2025- MIDNIGHT PRAYERS - PASTOR BATSI MUSIIWA*

*THEME: RISING ABOVE CHALLENGES - PERSIST*🙌🏽🙌🏽

*1. I will persist in the name of Jesus; you have to persist sister, even when another
birthday has come and you are still single, do not give up, you must persist; pray
over that situation even when you do not see any movement; keep declaring His
name, keep knocking that door; that visa will be granted, that door will be opened,
that turnaround will come, the promises of God will manifest in your life; do not
give up, your Master is expecting you, He is saying keep coming; lift your voice and
declare Lord I am here, I believe You are hearing me, I will not surrender, I am rising
above this matter in the mighty name of Jesus.*

🔹You must be so confident in the God we serve, He is not a work of man’s hands
but He is God the beginning of all things; this week we have been standing on the
theme rising above challenges; you must rise and believe you are rising above all
obstacles and challenges that may have been thrown in your life.

🔹We said this week that though God is not the author of all the confusion and
attacks in your life, He plays a role in stopping, frustrating and denying satan and all
his agents of darkness the opportunity to bring into your life things that are way
bigger than you.

🔹The bible tells that God will not allow you to be tempted or stretched beyond
what you are able to bear:

1 Corinthians 10:13-No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to

man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are
able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be
able to bear it. Flee from Idolatry.

🔹That must be your comfort; it means if I see something that seems to be

stretching me, I have ability to stand up to it; God has confidence in His grace upon
me that I will rise above; that situation will not overwhelm you; it can be painful,
challenging or stressful but you are rising above it.

🔹In the book of Luke 18:1, the bible says:

Luke 18: 1-7 - Then Jesus told his disciples a parable to show them that they should
always pray and not give up. He said: “In a certain town there was a judge who
neither feared God nor cared what people thought. And there was a widow in that
town who kept coming to him with the plea, ‘Grant me justice against my adversary.
For some time he refused. But finally he said to himself, ‘Even though I don’t fear
God or care what people think, yet because this widow keeps bothering me, I will
see that she gets justice, so that she won’t eventually come and attack me! And the
Lord said, “Listen to what the unjust judge says. And will not God bring about
justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? Will he keep putting
them off? I tell you, he will see that they get justice, and quickly. However, when the
Son of Man comes, will he find faith on the earth?

🔹Jesus gave a story trying to illustrate and encourage that man always ought to
pray and not lose heart, we must not faint; on the contrary He was encouraging you
and I to persist in prayer; the judge in the story said I will avenge the widow lest by
her continual coming she wearies me.

🔹Jesus went on to say that shall God not avenge His own elect who cry to Him day
and night; Jesus is saying that God is expecting His own elect to come day and
night; He is expecting you and I to not give up, to not buckle under pressure but to
persist.

🔹The widow had an agenda, she needed to be avenged of her adversary, she
persisted and would not give the judge rest; Jesus is said that when it comes to the
matters of prayer you must not faint; when you allow the situation to overwhelm
you, you are fainting brother (sister).

🔹Some of you feel like God is not hearing or answering your prayers, He says don’t
give up, keep coming; there are things that you might be dealing with, I might not
have the answers of why your breakthrough has not come yet but I can guarantee
what the word guarantees, God will come through for you when you persist.

🔹 *I will persist in the name of Jesus; you have to persist sister, even when another

*2. The widow in the parable had no option or plan B; our problem is sometimes we
have too many options and we are just passing through God, that will not get you
anywhere; you must be resolute and declare it is Him and Him alone; I will go to no
one else, I want You Lord; You are my plan A to Z; I have no one else to go to;
declare Lord I am here, Your word says You will avenge me, You will come through
for me; I am here Lord, my eyes are stayed on You Faithful God.*

🔹Jesus said hear and take lessons from this story, shall God not avenge His own
elect who come before Him day and night; whatever is challenging you right now,
the goal is not to weary you and make you give up; but you respond and declare I
will weary the matter, I am not the one who will break down but I will break
through.

🔹That resistance will be broken by my persistence, by my consistence; I will break

resistance; you have to be bigger than the situation; rise above your challenges;
your matter is a simple matter before God.

🔹People would love a pity party and feel sorry for themselves, like God has
abandoned and forgotten them; if that is your prayer, change quickly, it will get you
nowhere; if you are just blaming God and feeling sorry for yourself, change that
posture and rise above your situation.

🔹Remember David and his men at Ziklag, they wept and wept until there was no
more strength in them:

1 Samuel 30:4-Then David and the people who were with him lifted up their voices
and wept, until they had no more power to weep.

🔹Nothing changed as they were feeling sorry for themselves but the matter
changed when one man stood and strengthened himself in the Lord:

1 Samuel 30:6-Now David was greatly distressed, for the people spoke of stoning
him, because the soul of all the people was grieved, every man for his sons and his
daughters. But David strengthened himself in the Lord his God.

🔹David found strength in the Lord and he enquired of the Lord:

1 Samuel 30:8 - and David inquired of the LORD, “Shall I pursue this raiding party?
Will I overtake them?” “Pursue them,” he answered. “You will certainly overtake
them and succeed in the rescue.”

🔹When David enquired of the Lord, that was the game changer; as long as they
were throwing a pity party, nothing was going to change; I am saying you have
been crying for too long, you have been throwing a pity party for too long; you
have been accusing and blaming people for too long; rise and come before the
Lord; declare this is a simple matter before You.

🔹 *The widow in the parable had no option or plan B; our problem is sometimes we

*3. Sometimes God is more interested in the change that happens in you than the
change you are looking for; He is interested in the person you are becoming;
declare Lord I am here to stay, I will do whatever You want; I am laying myself on
the altar; deal with anything that is hindering my breakthrough; I am not running
away but I am here Lord, fully surrendered before You in the name of Jesus.*

🔹I see mighty men and women rising above the things that were trying to swallow
them; you are becoming stronger than the thing that was challenging you; the bible
says in 2 Samuel 3:

2 Samuel 3:1-Now there was a long war between the house of Saul and the house
of David. But David grew stronger and stronger, and the house of Saul grew weaker
and weaker.

🔹You will continue to grow stronger and stronger, the thing that had a hold on you
will become weaker and weaker; somebody you are at the edge of your
breakthrough; you are about to see victory, do not give up.

🔹You might say Pastor the heat, it feels unbearable; yes it might feel that way but it
is bearable according to His word, somebody else might find it unbearable but you
are able to bear it; God has supplied enough strength in you to rise above it; you
must be strong, there is a testimony that must come to you in the name of Jesus.

🔹God is expecting you to persist; as long as you keep coming before the Lord there
is a lot that is happening in you; sometimes the change that is happening is within
you and cannot be seen outside; there is transformation, a patience and a spiritual
stamina growing in you; there is a closeness to the Holy Spirit that is developing;
there is a knowledge of God you are gaining, a love for prayer that is developing.
🔹Some of you are being brought to a place where you learn to trust God and
forgive; God is dealing with you at the place of prayer; do not run away, if you run
away you are missing the opportunity, the day when you then come back, God will
start from where your left off.

🔹You will realise that the thing that motivated you to come to prayer is no longer
the main thing; you came saying Lord my marriage but now you are saying Lord
deal with my heart; as long as you don’t faint or give up you will see tremendous
breakthrough; you will come out with a testimony but a different person.

🔹 *Sometimes God is more interested in the change that happens in you than the
change you are looking for; He is interested in the person you are becoming;
declare Lord I am here to stay, I will do whatever You want; I am laying myself on
the altar; deal with anything that is hindering my breakthrough; I am not running
away but I am here Lord, fully surrendered before You in the name of Jesus.*

*4.

🔹Sometimes it will help us if we begin to cooperate with the work of the Spirit; I
know there are so many things that brought you to the place of prayer, but if you
look around you will begin to thank the Lord.

🔹Father, I came for that breakthrough but I am learning obedience and I thank You
Lord; I came for my marriage but I am learning patience; I came for provision but I
am leaning to trust; I am learning to overcome and starve my natural appetites; I am
learning to be the person You want me to be and I thank You Lord.
🔹When you begin to pray like that even your adversary won’t know what to do with
you; what He thought would break you is making you a better person; you will walk
out with that breakthrough but you will be a better person.

🔹I am learning to sacrifice and I thank you Lord; I am learning to trust without

borders and I thank You Lord; I am learning to hear from You Holy Spirit and I thank
You Lord; I might not have handled it as yet but you don’t know how I have grown;
God has been dealing with me; His Spirit is doing work in me.

🔹I was a slave to my body but fasting has taught me to deny the flesh, I have learnt
to overcome; there are things that God cannot teach you anywhere else but at the
altar; He cannot teach you anywhere else except the place of prayer, nowhere else
and therefore you must not give up, you must not faint; you must continuously
come before the Lord.

🔹We are just a few days from the end of our fasting and we are counting down to
meet at the Kingdom Prayer Conference; I want to encourage you to be there; we
will pray for one another touching on different themes every day; make time even
online; know that this is your season, the year can only get better when you lay a
foundation of prayer.

🔹Before I close this broadcast let me give somebody an opportunity to receive

Jesus Christ; perhaps you have never given your life to Jesus; start your journey with
Him today; give your life to Him today and surrender to Him; maybe you are in a
backslidden state, a lot has challenged you and pushed you away from God; I want
you to make a bold decision today and come back to Jesus; surrender to Him today;
the enemy has been messing around with your life making you feel like you can
never become something else, Jesus can make you; surrender your life; if you are
saying Pastor I am giving my life to Jesus, I am rededicating my life to Jesus; pray
with me and say:
🔹 *Lord Jesus, I thank You for Your mercy; I believe in my heart that Jesus Christ
You are the Son of God; You died on the cross for my sins; You were raised from
the dead for my forgiveness; I repent of my sins today and I ask You Jesus to save
me, come into my heart, be my Lord, be my Saviour; I surrender my life to You;
Father in heaven I thank You for receiving me today; I believe from today I am
saved, I am born again, in Jesus name I pray. Amen.*
