INTRODUCTION:
Definition: A vessel is a container used to hold or carry something.
Spiritual Meaning: A person who carries and reflects the presence, Word, and
purposes of God.
A "vessel of God" refers to a person whom God uses to fulfill His divine purposes.
Throughout Scripture, God has used ordinary people as vessels to carry out His
will, reflecting His power and glory. Being a vessel of God requires surrender,
sanctification, and willingness to serve. This presentation explores what it means
to be a vessel of God, how we can prepare ourselves for His use, and how we can
live as effective instruments for His glory.
Isaiah 42:6 is a powerful verse that reflects God's call and purpose for His chosen
servant. Here's an example of His chosen servants:
Old Testament
1. Noah - A righteous but ordinary man whom God chose to build the ark,
preserving humanity and animals from the flood (Genesis 6:9-22).
2. Abraham - A traveling shepherd called by God to become the father of
nations, exemplifying faith and obedience (Genesis 12:1-3).
3. Moses - A stammering (speech problem) shepherd whom God used to lead
the Israelites out of Egypt and receive the Law on Mount Sinai (Exodus 3:1-
12).
4. David - A young shepherd boy who became a king and defeated Goliath,
showcasing God’s strength through humility and trust (1 Samuel 16:1-13; 1
Samuel 17).
5. Esther - A Jewish orphan who became queen and risked her life to save her
people from destruction (Esther 4:13-16).
6. Ruth - A Moabite widow who, through her loyalty and faith, became part of
the lineage of Jesus Christ (Ruth 1:16-17, 4:13-17).
New Testament
1. Mary - A humble young woman chosen to bear and raise Jesus, the Savior
of the world (Luke 1:26-38).
2. Peter - A fisherman transformed into a bold disciple who proclaimed the
Gospel after Pentecost (Matthew 4:18-19; Acts 2:14-41).
3. Paul - A former persecutor of Christians who became one of the greatest
apostles and missionaries of the early Church (Acts 9:1-22).
4. The Samaritan Woman - An outcast who encountered Jesus at the well and
became an evangelist to her village (John 4:28-30, 39-42).
5. Andrew - An ordinary fisherman who brought his brother Peter to Jesus,
becoming one of His first followers (John 1:40-42).
mag asawa na may 5-years old na anak.
lumang magazine na may MAP OF THE WORD. Ginupit gupit ng Daddy yun map of
the world ng squares, at pagkatapos hinalo-halo. Tapos sinabi niya, anak halika,
kungwari jigsaw puzzle ito ha, buoin mo ito ha. “Yes Daddy” sagot nun bata.
map of the world na nabuo na niya.
na 5-yrs old buoin yun puzzle? Dahil sa sobrang namangha yun tatay, tinanong
niya yun anak niya, …. ‘Nak pano mo ginawa mabuo kaagad yan? …. “Ah Daddy
kanina habang naggugupit gupit ka, nakita ko may boy and girl picture sa likod, so
naisip ko kung mabubuo ko yun boy and girl eh mabubuo ko din yun MAP OF THE
WORLD.
"What does it mean to be a VESSEL OF GOD for others in this verse?" Let us read
Isaiah 42:6
1. CHOSEN
"I the Lord have made you the vessel of my purpose":
Basahin po natin yun Book of Jeremiah 1: 5 “Before I formed you in the womb I
knew you, and before you were born, I consecrated you; …. .”
ISAIAH 64:8, basahin po natin “But now, O Lord, you are our Father; we are the
clay, and you are our potter; we are all the work of your hand.”
pakinabang.
At dahil personally chosen tayo, personally hinubog tayo, may mission tayo kung
bakit tayo ang PINILI. God declares that He has intentionally created and chosen
His servant for a specific mission. This servant is a vessel, a carrier of divine will,
designed to accomplish His purposes on earth.
Basahin po natin ang JOHN 15:16, “You did not choose me, but I chose you and
appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide,
so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”
“Many are called but few are chosen”.
PAGPAPALA?
What do we have in common?
• Faith and Obedience: God often used those who simply trusted Him, even
when the task seemed impossible or overwhelming.
• Weakness to Strength: Many of these individuals were flawed or deemed
insignificant, but God’s power was made perfect through their weaknesses.
JACOB WAS A CHEATER
PETER HAD A TEMPER
DAVID HAD AN AFFAIR
NOAH WAS DRUNK
JONAH RAN FROM GOD
PAUL WAS A MURDERER
MOSES SPEECH DEFECT
ABRAHAM WAS OLD
• A Willing Heart: God called those who were willing to surrender their lives
for His purpose, showing that availability matters more than ability.
Basahin po natin ang JEREMIAH 18: 2-4, "Arise, and go down to the potter 's
house, and there I will let you hear my words." So, I went down to the potter 's
house, and there he was working at his wheel. And the vessel he was making of
clay was spoiled in the potter 's hand, and he reworked it into another vessel, as it
seemed good to the potter to do.”
Panginoon.
These stories remind us that God’s work is not limited by our limitations, and GOD
continues to use ordinary people today to achieve extraordinary things for His
glory.
2. PROTECTED
"I have taken you by the hand, and kept you safe":
This expresses God's guidance, protection, and care. Taking someone by the hand
is an intimate act that signifies leadership, direction, and assurance. God is not
only calling His servant but also walking alongside them to ensure they fulfill their
mission safely.
GUIDANCE TEACHING
PROTECTION COUNSELING
CARE SAFE-GUARDING
DIRECTION LOOK AFTER
ISAIAH 41:13 “For I am the Lord your God, who holds your right hand, who says to
you, ‘Do not fear, I will help you.” Basta isama natin Siya sa atin buhay.
Sabi po nga ng ating Panginoon, “I follow close to you; your right hand holds on to
Me.” PSALMS 63:8.
3. INTERCESOR
"I have given you to be an agreement to the people":
This refers to the servant being a "covenant" or a bridge between God and
humanity.
tayo and Prayer Warriors.
Sabi nga po sa 1 Timothy 2:1, “First of all, then, I urge that supplications, prayers,
intercessions, and thanksgivings be made for all people . . . .
4. BEACON
What does being a beacon mean?
Merriam-Webster defines beacon as a source of light or inspiration. I see a
beacon as a person who shines her light, and, in turn, inspires, guides, and
brings hope to others. Every single day, we have endless opportunities to be a
beacon.
"And a light to the nations":
The servant is tasked with being a source of truth, hope, and guidance for all
people. Being “light" symbolizes bringing clarity, understanding, and salvation to
those in darkness or ignorance.
Every single day, we have endless opportunities to be a beacon.
Qualities of a Vessel of God
• SANCTIFICATION: Being set apart for God’s purposes. (1
Thessalonians 4:3-4)
• HUMILITY: Allowing God to shape and use you. (Isaiah 64:8)
• OBEDIENCE: Following God’s instructions without hesitation.
(Romans 12:1-2)
isang FURNITURE MANUFACTURING FIRM.
Pangalanan natin ARNOLD yun factory worker.
Since wala
pagluluto.
The next day, ganun ulit pag uuwi si ARNOLD may dala-dala siya isang karton na
kusot sa kartilya or wheelbarrow.
iinspection nya yun box, at makikita naman niya puro kusot, so pinalalagpas niya.
3rd day ganun ulit, 4th day ganun ulit, sa 5th day, hinarang na nun Guard si ARNOLD
WHEELBARROW OR YUN KARTILYA.
nakikita, let us see the big picture, tinawag at pinili tayo ng Panginoon – kasi may
gagawin tayo.
So sa verse natin ang sabi “and a light to the nations” – dalangin din natin na
The servant is tasked with being a source of truth, hope, and
guidance for all people. Being “light" symbolizes bringing clarity, understanding,
and salvation to those in darkness or ignorance.
CONCLUSION
Being a vessel of God is a high calling that requires dedication and intentional
living. As we commit ourselves to God’s service, He transforms us into instruments
of His grace and power. Let us strive to be vessels of honor, always ready for the
Master’s use, bringing glory to His name.
CLOSING PRAYER:
Heavenly Father,
We come before You with hearts full of gratitude, admiring at Your grace and
mercy. Thank You for Your promise in Isaiah 42:6, na Ipinahayag Mo na tinawag
Lord, we are humbled that You have chosen us to be vessels of Your purpose,
entrusted with sharing Your love and truth.
Help us to walk in righteousness
Lord, hand in hand with You, trusting in Your guidance every step of the way.
Kami po Lord, united in faith, may we encourage one another to live out this
calling with boldness and humility. Let us be steadfast in sharing Your promises,
extending Your grace, and reflecting Your light in every place You lead us.
Thank You for keeping us safe, for making us Your covenant people, and for giving
us a purpose that transcends all earthly pursuits. May we always remember that it
is You who calls us, equips us, and sustains us.
In the name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Light, we pray.
Amen.
