investors bought the nation’s stocks and bonds following the country’s inclusion in
the JPMorgan Chase & Co.’s emerging markets bond index.
• The stockpile rose $9.7 billion to $666.9 billion as of July 12, data from the Reserve
Bank of India showed Friday. It was the sharpest weekly rise since early March.

• The Indian economy has to generate an average of 7.8 million jobs annually until
2030 in the non-farm sector to cater to the rising workforce, said the Economic
Survey 2023-24.
• The survey, by using simple modelling and some assumptions, attempts a broad
estimation of the requirement for job creation in the non-farm sector. The survey
assumes that the share of agriculture in the workforce will decline from 45.8 per
cent in 2023 to one-fourth in 2047.

• India’s real GDP is projected to grow between 6.5–7 per cent in 2024-25. The Indian
economy recovered swiftly from the pandemic, with its real GDP in FY24 being 20
per cent higher than the pre-COVID, FY20 levels. This was stated by the Economic
Survey 2023-24 presented in Parliament today by the Union Minister of Finance and
Corporate Affairs Smt Nirmala Sitharaman.

India's broadcasting journey began in June 1923 with the Radio Club of Bombay's first
transmission. The Indian Broadcasting Company (IBC) was established on July 23,
1927, marking the birth of organized radio broadcasting in the country. This date is
now celebrated as National Broadcasting Day.
All India Radio (AIR) emerged in 1936, evolving from the Indian State Broadcasting
Service. Post-independence, AIR expanded rapidly, adopting the name "Akashvani" in
1956. Today, AIR operates 591 stations, reaching 98% of India's population and
broadcasting in 23 languages and 146 dialects.
