COURSE PLANNER
Course Overview:
Analytics is a journey that involves a combination of potential skills, advanced technologies, applications,
and processes used by firm to gain business insights from data and statistics. This is done to perform
business planning.
Predictive Analytics is an art of predicting future on the basis of past trend. It is a branch of Statistics which
comprises of Modeling Techniques, Machine Learning & Data Mining. Predictive Analytics is primarily
used in Decision Making.
Analytics is now days used in all the fields ranging from Medical Science to Aero science to Government
Activities. Data Science and Analytics are used by Manufacturing companies as well as Real Estate firms
to develop their business and solve various issues by the help of historical data base.
Prerequisites:
 Should have the basic Knowledge of Data Bases and its Management
 Should have the basic Knowledge of Data warehousing.
 Should have the awareness of Associate Analytics & Big data concepts
Able to understand the Tools & technology related to the maintenance of Data bases.
Course Objectives:
At the end of the course, the students will be able to:
 To teach the students and make them Understand Basics of Predictive Analytics, Understand Data
types and Variable types, Understand Basic Modeling and work on Missing Data
 To teach the students and make them Understand Logistic Regression and its components, Execute
variable transformation and Understand Tableau visualization
 To teach the students objective segmentation CHAID and CART
 To teach the students Time series methods/ forecasting feature Extraction and various forecasting
methods like Univariate stationary processes (ARMA) and Non- stationary , integrated
processes(ARIMA), Extract features from the generated model as height, Average, Energy etc. and
analyze prediction business capabilities and ETL Approach

Introduction to Predictive Analytics & Linear Regression (NOS 2101): What and Why Analytics,
Introduction to Tools and Environment, Application of Modeling in Business, Databases & Types of
data and variables, Data Modeling Techniques, Missing imputations etc. Need for Business
Modeling, Regression — Concepts, Blue property-assumptions-Least Square Estimation, Variable
Rationalization, and Model Building etc.

Logistic Regression (NOS 2101): Model Theory, Model fit Statistics, Model Conclusion, Analytics
