•A young Scottish princess with a strong passion for archery.
In an attempt to earn the right to choose her own destiny,
Merida disobeys the traditions and expectations of her
mother, Queen Elinor. The relationship between mother
and daughter becomes tense, and in a rash move, Merida
seeks the help of a witch to change her fate. However, the
spell has unexpected consequences, transforming her
mother into a bear. Merida must then embark on a
dangerous adventure to break the spell, learn about sacrifice
and the true meaning of bravery, and ultimately reconcile
with her mother.
REFLECTION
The movie 'Brave' has a very important message,
especially for children. It teaches us the importance
of communication and autonomy in making
personal decisions, as Merida's mother wanted to
make decisions for her, causing a rift in their
mother-daughter relationship due to lack of
communication. It also teaches us to respect and
honor our roots, showing that unconditional love
and acceptance are fundamental to family and
personal relationships.
•We thought it to be a beautiful movie, not just because of the
animation and landscapes, which are incredible, but because of
everything it conveys. What impacted me the most was the
relationship between Merida and her mom, because it’s
something many of us can relate to: those differences that
sometimes seem so big but, in the end, just need
communication and empathy. I really liked how the story
shows that being brave isn’t just about facing physical dangers
but also about owning your mistakes, finding solutions, and
learning to understand others. I think the message of fighting
to be yourself while also valuing your family is something that
truly resonates and makes you reflect on your own
relationships. It’s one of those movies that leaves you with a
life lesson.
