INVIGILATION PROTOCOL

An evalua)on is a formal measurement of student learning that may include, but is not limited to, any examina)on, test,
culmina)ng assignment or project.
• Students will not be admi>ed 1/2 hour aBer the start of the evalua)on nor permi>ed to leave during the
first 1/2 hour. (1.10.1.)
• In no case will late arrivals be permi>ed any )me extension. (1.10.2.)
• No verbal communica)on regarding evalua)on content should occur between invigilators and students
once the evalua)on has begun. Invigilators should advise students who raise ques)ons about evalua)on
content to read the ques)ons carefully. (1.11.1.)
• During final evalua)ons, errors discovered aBer the commencement of an evalua)on should not be
corrected. Students who perceive there to be an error with regard to the evalua)on ques)ons will be
provided a mechanism to document their percep)on in wri)ng and to provide this document to the
invigilator. The invigilator will deliver any such documents to the course instructor, who should make
allowances in the marking scheme if there was an error. Students should a>empt to answer, in the best
possible way, the ques)on which they perceive to contain an error. (1.11.4.)
• Students will not be permi>ed to bring any aids other than those specified in wri)ng on the evalua)on
paper to the evalua)on table. (1.13.)
• For final evalua)on where the professor of record is not in a>endance all students must provide Student
ID or government issued photo iden)fica)on for which they leave on their desks. Some part-)me
students may not have the student card with photo iden)fica)on. (1.15.)
• For students who do not have a student card with a photograph or other iden)fica)on with a
photograph, the invigilator should compare the signature on the iden)fica)on provided to the signature
on the list. (1.15.4.)
