Assignment n.1
Good Example n.1

This room to feels welcoming

and the lighting is
appropriate. The excellent
choice of the natural/neutral
colour palette provides a
unified and well-balanced
environment that does not
drag the attention away from
the ocean view window,
which is a great selling
feature, beautifully framed by
the two plants on each side,
used also for accompanying
the natural outside elements.

The space is maximized and the room has been staged with elements and details that gracefully
provide a feeling of calm and warmth. The gray marble frame around the fireplace creates a soft
contrast that well balances with the overall palette of colours.
Good Example n.2

This room has been staged

again beautifully. The ceiling
is not high, therefore white is
a good choice for the walls
and the shelves provide a
good functioning feature. The
light beams installed on the
ceiling made avoidable the
use of chandeliers that would
have made the room feel
shorter, and they also provide
a more unified lighting. Again,
a big window opening on the
outdoor provides natural light
and enhances the colours
The space is maximized, personally I would not put any furniture that would prevent my access to the
outdoor, but the element does not disturb the eye, also the green pillows and plants create a well
match with the outdoor. With not much space and limited walls height, the less is more.
Bad Example n. 1

This room has no proportion

with the furniture. On a small
room I would have
recommended the use of
wallpaper on one of the four
walls only and pant the rest of
the walls in a white or bright
neutral paint. Functionality is
not achieved as the drawers
cannot be opened. There is a
mismatch between the door
and the floor colour, the
chandelier creates a contrast
that totally clashes with the
(supposed to be) colour
palette.
The room feels totally cramped despite the huge effort made by the owner to achieve this
Bad Example n. 2

This room has a clear

mismatch regarding the
chaotic carpet floor, which in
my opinion looks outdated,
the colour of the wall, and the
furniture. The only thing that I
would define appropriate are
the light beams instead of a
chandelier, which would
made appear the ceiling
shorter. There is also a
mismatch between the two
paintings on the side and the
one in the center. The chairs
and the sofa are facing the
door, which do not make this
space functional at all.
The style of the furniture together doesn’t provide unity in style nor in patterns.
