In alignment with the recommendations and approval received from Board of Studies in
Architecture, it is hereby notified that the course "Research Methodology and IPR" currently
listed in the 2024 scheme for postgraduate programs will be replaced with "Research
Methodology for Planning and Architectural Studies" for students enrolled in planning and
architecture programs.
Key Points:
1. Revised Course Title: The new title of the course is "Research Methodology for
Planning and Architectural Studies."
2. Course Availability: The course content is hosted on the NPTEL portal. Students can
access the material through the Centre for Online Education

3. Examinations: Students are required to complete the course and appear for the
Continuous Internal Assessment [CIE) and Semester End Examination [SEE) within the
timeframe specified by the COE Mysuru
4. Implementation: This replacement takes effect immediately and applies to both the
current and upcoming academic sessions under the 2024 scheme. While this course
carries no credit, qualifying is mandatory for the award of the degree. As per the
scheme, it will not be considered for vertical progression.

Departments offering planning and architecture programs are requested to update their records
and communicate this change to faculty and students at the earliest convenience.
