1. What is the THEME for the 50TH NUTRITION MONTH CELEBRATION 2024

(Philippines) and its GOAL.

• According to United Nations Children's Fund (2024), the theme for the 50th

anniversary of nutrition month celebration this year of 2024 is “Sa PPAN: Sama-

sama sa Nutrisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat!” or “Through PPAN, let’s collaborate on

nutrition for all!”. The goal for this nutrition month theme is to increase awareness

of the healthy diet demands to enhance delivery of nutrition that is appropriate,

individualized, consumable, maintained that encompass all ages, this ensures

optimal nutritional stability for all Filipinos. Also, the goal also includes educating

families and barangays about appropriate nutrition, which local governments are

responsible for disseminating adequate information by aligned strategies with the

theme.

2. What is PPAN? And it’s Mission

• Philippine Plan of Action or commonly known as PPAN is created by the

subagency of Department of Health, which is the National Nutrition Council (NNC).

PPAN is created to serve as a blueprint to eradicate malnutrition and other forms

of it for the stakeholders, government, agencies below the government, non-

governmental organizations, educational institutions by educating the public about

nutrition and creating strategies with the mindset of all Filipinos with optimal

nutrition. To summarize, PPAN’s mission is to lessen or eradicate issues that are


not limited to malnutrition in all ages by systemic access to nutrition delivery that

results in healthier diets and better dietary practices (Manila Bulletin, 2023).

3. As a Nursing student, how can you help/contribute in achieving the Goal of the

2024 NUTRITION MONTH THEME?

• As a Nursing student, I can contribute to the goal achievement of the 2024

nutritional month theme by health education and promotion in various communities

that Far Eastern University is with. Health teaching in various strategies that are

appropriate to different age groups to ensure that information is retained that

results in application in daily life. Aside from this, I can also promote optimal

nutrition effects in one’s health in various social media platforms that are accessed

to all age groups and/or creating programs or webinars in my own community.

B.
