Scope of work :-

with Smoke gray or similar colour.
2 Supply and Installation of 1 Ph 230v 1HP VVVF drive make LS/LG or 1 Job
similar complete with hardware for speed and rotation control,
Acceleration, deceleration, torque boost features, protection and
display
3 Master speed display embedded system with key board for actual 1 Job
diameter input, display of rpm, wheel dia, linear speed and
software, infra red rpm sensor and co-axial cable.
4 Wheel speed simulation with coupling arrangement for PG in one 1 Job
side, 1HP 3Ph 200V 960 rpm CGL make Motor fitted on iron frame
for perfect alignment.
5 Coupling arrangement with 50 Pin and 9 Pin plug and cables for 1 Job
input of PG signals to Master and Repeater Speedometer.
6 Indication for Zero Speed, SPM healthy, 105% and 110% over speed 1 Job
safety checking.
7 Coast and brake function checking using hardware switch wiring. 1 Job
8 110V DC Power supply for working of the Speedometer and PG 1 Job
system.
NOTE: 1. The Trolley should be easily movable in shop floor and can be easily
carrying at
required place of Howrah Diesel Shed.
2. Easy to couple with loco SPM circuits.
3. Working should not be affected due to trolley movement vibration.

Terms & Conditions:
12. (ii) After the work for “Design, fabrication, supply commissioning of portable Speedometer
test bench” at Howrah Diesel Shed if any failure arising out of faulty Workmanship on part
of the contractor of the defective material used for repairing and up gradation by the
contractor, the decision of Sr.DME/D/ER/HWH in regard to the cause of failure and nature of
rectification to be carried out by the contractor shall be final and binding on part of the
contractor. The Railway administration reserves the right to accept or reject any tender
either in full or in part without assigning any reason.
13. Joint Note should be prepared and signed jointly after successful commissioning.
14. If any mis - happening or injury occurs due to lack of safety precautions, will be sole
responsibility of contractor. No claim should be made against shed authority.
15. Other terms & conditions will be as per General Conditions of Contract of Railway.

Portable ESMON Speedometer Test bench for testing of ESMON Speedo Meters for
Electric Loco
Scope: Speedometer test bench is essential for calibration testing of different make
Speedometers e.g. Medha, Laxven, Auto-meter etc with Speed sensors, Energy Calibration
modules used in Electric Loco. Speedometers are provided to guide the driving crews to run
the Locomotives in safe manner obeying cautions and maintaining punctuality. Therefore
Micro-processor based Portable Speedometer test bench will provide calibration facility of
Speedometer comparing with readings of speed display system, Master Energy Meter
provided in test bench.
General Specification: Speedometer test bench will have following major functions (i)
Speed calibration (ii) Odometer testing (iii) Costing/Braking function testing (iv) Energy Meter
testing facility. It will be fitted with PVC molded or similar wheels for easy movement
around floor area.
The test bench will be provided with a speed simulator having smooth and step less Speed
control using 3- Phase special type 1HP, 6 Pole induction motor driven by VVVF drive. The
Motor will have extended shaft arrangement at both ends for mounting speed sensors from
outside of the test bench. Motor speed should start from lowest value (5 kmph) & will provide
minimum 2 kmph resolution for testing Speedometers with standard wheel diameter (1092
mm).
The Speed simulator may be controlled from 0-1500 rpm using a multi turn potentiometer
control and the control knob will be located in front panel of test bench. The facilities of
forward , reverse, emergency stop, tripping against overload, stalling of speed simulator
should be provided in the test bench.
The Speed drive should enable to set acceleration/deceleration curve to attend target speed
by speed simulator so the meter needle doesn’t damage with the sudden starting jerk of
drive. The Induction Motor of Speed simulator should be provided with appropriate cooling
system using 4” Fan mounted on Motor cage while rotation at lowest rpm.
The test bench should comprise of a Micro controller based master Speed Indicator system
through 7 inch HMI or array of FND display loaded with proprietary software and will have
following features:
(i) Diameter Input/correction using key board (ii) Computation of Linear Speed based
on wheel diameter and rpm (iii) Display of default diameter when the panel is
powered (iv) Change/correction of default diameter using password authentication
(v) Input of run time in Odometer test mode in hh:mm:ss format. The system will
cover wheel diameter from 800 to 1200 mm.
Proximity switch for scanning simulator speed and input to master speed indicator will be
provided inside the panel for calibration purpose. Multi teeth encoder wheel should be
provided on Speed simulator for accurate speed measurement.
Display system will be with 7 inch or similar touch screen HMI or array of FND display devices.
The system will compute linear speed, distance travelled, time during which coasting/braking
function are applied, energy etc and display on the Speed and Energy master calibration unit
in the test bench
