1. Inflation (264 Words)
Inflation is a persistent rise in an economy’s general price level of goods and services. It is a complex phenomenon
affecting the economic growth and development of countries worldwide. Pakistan is one such country that has been
struggling with inflation for many years. In this essay, we will discuss the causes and effects of inflation in Pakistan and
the measures that can be taken to control it.
One of the primary causes of inflation in Pakistan is the excessive printing of money by the government to finance its
expenses. This leads to an increase in the money supply, increasing demand for goods and services, and driving up
prices. Another factor contributing to inflation is the devaluation of the Pakistani rupee, which makes imports more
expensive, causing prices to rise.
Inflation has a significant impact on the economy of Pakistan, as it reduces the purchasing power of the people and
increases the cost of doing business. High inflation rates also discourage investment and hinder economic growth,
making it difficult for the country to create jobs and improve the standard of living.
To combat inflation in Pakistan, the government needs to implement policies that address the root causes of the
problem. This includes controlling the money supply, reducing government spending, and promoting exports to
increase foreign exchange earnings. Additionally, the government can encourage economic investment to spur growth
and create jobs.
In conclusion, inflation is a significant economic challenge in Pakistan that requires the government’s immediate
attention. By implementing sound economic policies and promoting investment, the country can address this problem
and achieve sustainable economic growth.
2. Patriotism (342 Words)
Patriotism is a passion from which springs the love for one's country. Itis but natural to love one's own homeland. No
doubt, a man becomes emotionally attached to the place, where he lives. So, patriotism is a natural passion.
If we analyze patriotism historically, we come to know that it is an inborn instinct. Adam (AS) loved his first dwelling
i.e. paradise. Allah says in the Holy Quran that the tribes and races of man have been made for the purpose of
recognition only; but man began to feel pride in his tribe, race, family and language. Perhaps these are natural instincts.
But the most dominant instinct among these is the love for one's country because it has a broader implementation.
Patriotism assumes different shapes in different people. Some people love their language, nation, race or country
more than others. But everyone has a tinge of patriotism in one sense or another.
As far as the Islamic concept of patriotism is concerned, it regards all the Muslims as a nation. It maintains that every
piece of land is the property of Allah. Every place and every country belong to the Muslims. Thus, the Muslims become
a universal community.

1
Sunan Ibne Majah, Vol 01, Book 01, Hadith 243
1
So, the Islamic patriotism is very broad and the wide in its application. Patriotism should be promoted if it teaches the
lesson of endurance and tolerance. But there are many negative aspects associated with patriotism. Many wars have
been fought in the name of patriotism. Prejudice is one of the byproducts of patriotism. Sometimes narrow-
mindedness stands parallel to patriotism. The so-called patriot accepts nothing except what relates to his own self. He
praises his country and all its related things even if these do not deserve so. He abhors others simply because they do
not belong to his country even if they deserve to be appreciated.
In short, we should have patriotism. It is not a bad thing. But approach should always be realistic. It should be
humanistic and universal. It should be unlimited and not regional. Rational patriotism is better than sentimental one.

3. My First Day At College (426 Words)

Sweet memories are like the sweet flowers. They become a source of happiness in the depressing drama of life.
Usually, hard experiences teach us wisdom. The person who learns nothing from the dark past should expect nothing
from the bright future. Though the memory of my first day at college is a bit bitter, it is shining in my mind's eye like
the smiling tears.
It was a sunny day of spring. I with my friends went to the college for the first time. We were excited and eager for
learning. Still we were a furlong away from our college when a group of horrified students told us that some senior
students were waiting for new comers to make a fool of them. We began to tremble with fear. We turned pale. We
could not utter a word.
They told us that the seniors wanted to adorn the students of the first year with different colors, rags, and the garlands
of old shoes. Our blooming faces fell down as the blooming flowers scatter in a heavy rain.
Eventually, the president of the college union appeared there like a sudden wave of grace. We told him our problem.
He smiled and encouraged us to face the situation. However, he helped us and escorted us to the gate of the college.
He asked the other students not to harass us. We became happy to be safe so nicely.
We came to the playground. The naughty senior students reached there. They began to make a fool of us. We
reminded them of the advice of the president of the college union. They laughed and asked me to put on a tattered
shirt. I did so. They displayed a placard at the chest of my friend. The word "scarecrow (4)" was written on it. A boy
with a wreath of old shoes advanced to a new comer. He observing the situation minutely ran in one direction.
Some boys ran after him. We took advantage of the situation and ran in the opposite direction. Some other boys ran
after us. To our bad luck our path ended on the verge of a field soggy with the recent irrigation. We hesitated a moment
but horrified by the chasing party, we jumped onto the sodden field. The senior students stopped at the brink and
laughed loudly to see us in this crisis. We were however relaxed to be away from the grave risk. How we reached our
houses is another story to tell. It is how I spent my first day at college.

4. Co-Education (285 Words)

Co-education, the system of educating boys and girls together, is widely practiced in Pakistan. Although there are
some reservations and objections to this system, it is still considered beneficial in many ways. Co-education allows
students to interact with each other and learn to respect each other’s perspectives and opinions. It also helps to
eliminate gender biases and stereotypes and fosters a more inclusive learning environment.
Furthermore, co-education can provide a more diverse learning environment. Male and female students often bring
different perspectives and approaches to learning, which can enhance classroom discussions and group projects. This
can also help prepare students for the real world, where they must work with people of different genders,
backgrounds, and cultures.
However, there are some concerns related to co-education in Pakistan. Some conservative families believe that co-
education can lead to immoral behavior and prefer separate schools for boys and girls. Additionally, there are concerns
about safety and security, especially in areas where harassment and violence against women are high.

2
Despite these concerns, co-education has been gaining popularity in Pakistan. It is seen as an effective way to promote
equality, foster respect, and prepare students for the real world. With proper measures to ensure safety and security,
co-education can continue to provide valuable learning opportunities for students of all genders in Pakistan.
In conclusion, co-education has both advantages and disadvantages. While it can promote gender equality and
diversity in the classroom, it can also create distractions, social and emotional challenges, and negative impacts on
students’ moral development. Ultimately, the success of co-education in Pakistan depends on the quality of
the educational institutions and the effectiveness of the teachers and administrators in creating a positive and
supportive learning environment for all students.
5. Corruption (365 Words)
Corruption is the highly infectious social disease which has spread its roots to the mind of the bad people. No one
take birth to do such type of bad activities in the society however some bad conditions of their life forced them to do
so. Gradually they become habitual for all of these bad activities. However, people suffering from any problem,
disease, etc. should keep patience and trust on themselves and never do anything bad in life. As, one negative step
of anyone may harm the lives of many people. We are not a single entity on this earth, there are many like us, so we
should think a little about others and live life happily and peacefully with positive thoughts.
There are many causes of corruption in the society. Now-a-days political leaders are making interest oriented
programmes and policies instead of nation oriented programmes and policies. They are just wishing to be famous
politician for completing their own interests instead of citizen’s interests and requirement. There is increasing level
of change in the value system in the human mind as well as decreasing ethical qualities of human being. The level of
trust, faith and honesty is decreasing which gives rise to the corruption.
The number of common people with increased tolerance power towards corruption is increasing. There is a lack of
strong public forum in the society in order to oppose the corruption, widespread illiteracy in rural areas, poor economic
infrastructure, etc. are the reasons of endemic corruption in the public life. Low salaries norms of the government
employees force them towards channel of corruption. Complex laws and procedures of the government distract
common people to get any type of help from government. During election time, corruption become at its highest peak.
Politicians always take support of poor and illiterate people by dreaming them big in future during their governance
however nothing happens after win.

are honest and have an evident dislike for corruption. However, deep rooted the corruption might be, it could be
successfully eliminated with political will and public awareness.

their gardens. I also participate actively in the plantation scheme of the Government every year. I have planted
hundreds of trees at different places throughout the city. After planting the trees, I also take care of them.

Unemployment means the joblessness of those who are able and willing to work. Unemployment is a serious social
problem. But it is not the problem of particular country; it is a worldwide problem. The ratio of unemployment is
constantly increasing.
Economists have categorized the causes of unemployment as frictional, seasonal, structural, and cyclical.
Frictional unemployment arises when workers try to seek such jobs as may fit their ability and taste. Friction in this
case refers to the unsuitability between the worker and the job available. A worker may give up his old job and try to
look for a new one. Sometimes, it takes time to find a new suitable job. This type of unemployment can be reduced
somewhat by providing the workers with a variety of suitable jobs.
Seasonal unemployment occurs when industries have a slow season. Ours is an agricultural country. In the crop season,
new jobs are created. Particularly in cotton season, cotton factories are run. Then workers are employed there. But
when the cotton season is over, the factories are closed and the workers are unemployed. Thus, seasonal
unemployment occurs.

Structural unemployment arises from an imbalance between the kinds of workers wanted and the kinds of workers
available. The imbalances may be caused by lack of skills, location, or personal likes and dislikes. New rapid
developments are taking place in technology. This necessitates new skilled workers in industries. Thus, industries
employ new skilled workers. As a result, the old workers who have outdated skills are left without a job. Sometimes,
a plant in a declining industry is closed. It throws the workers out of work. Sometimes, a plant is shifted to another
place. The workers who are unable or unwilling to move to the area are left jobless.
Cyclical unemployment results from a general lack of demand for labor. When the business cycle turns downward,
demand for goods and services drops; the workers are laid off.
Unemployment is not a petty problem in its nature. It is a very grave problem. It hinders the smooth running of a
country. Therefore, it should be tackled before it paralyzes the whole structure of society. The following steps can be
of tremendous help in this regard.
First, the education system should be modified. The present system is producing such educated men as are good for
nothing. They are not skilled and technically trained. To make the situation even worse, they expect decent jobs, They
do not accept menial jobs and, therefore, remain unemployed. The government should introduce such system of
education as may produce skilled workers. In this regard, vocational and technical institutes should be opened. Second,
new industries should be set up to create more opportunities for employment. Third, steps should be taken to control
the population. Fourth, cottage industry should be promoted in towns villages. If these steps are taken, the problem

A visit to a museum is always an enriching experience that allows us to learn about history, culture, and art.
Recently, I had the opportunity to visit the National Museum of History in my city, and it was a fascinating journey
through time and space.
As I entered the museum, I was immediately struck by the grandeur of the building and the vast collection of

13.Uses & Abuses Of Mobile Phones (286 Words)

The advent of mobile phones has revolutionized the way education is imparted and received. With just a few clicks,
students have the world of knowledge at their fingertips. Mobile phones offer numerous educational apps, online
libraries, and platforms for virtual classrooms, making education more accessible and inclusive. These technologies
cater to various learning styles and needs, enabling personalized learning experiences. Furthermore, mobile phones
enhance collaborative learning through group chats and online project tools, fostering teamwork and
communication skills among students.
However, the overuse and dependency on mobile phones can have adverse effects. It can lead to addiction, where
students find it hard to concentrate on their studies without checking their phones frequently. This addiction can
significantly reduce their academic performance and limit their social interactions, leading to isolation. The easy
access to the internet also poses risks of misinformation and exposure to inappropriate content, which can mislead
and harm young minds. Moreover, the misuse of mobile phones for cheating during exams undermines the integrity
of the educational process.
To counter these challenges, it’s imperative to instill digital literacy and ethics in students from an early age. Schools
and parents should play an active role in monitoring and guiding mobile phone use. Setting clear rules for when and
how mobile phones can be used for educational purposes, encouraging breaks from screen time, and promoting
physical activities and face-to-face interactions can help balance the benefits and drawbacks of mobile phone use in
education.
By fostering a responsible approach to mobile phone usage, we can leverage its advantages to enhance learning
while protecting students from its potential abuses. This balance is key to ensuring that mobile phones remain
valuable tools in our educational toolkit rather than distractions or hazards.

“Lucky is the women; whose first child is a daughter.”
(Prophet Muhammad‫)ﷺ‬
Women had no respectable place in society before Islam came to their rescue. They were ill-treated and had no rights
to education, economic independence and inheritance. They were considered the product of the devil. The new-born
girls were buried alive. They were also burn alive with their dead husbands. Islam gave women respect and basic
human rights.

of their houses. They now fully participate in the social, political and economic development of the country.
Women have always played an important role in the development of a nation. In the early days of Islam, women
worked side by side with men. The history of the Muslims is full of the names of women who were eminent scholars,
poets and Sufis. In the battlefield, they nursed the injured, kept up the supplies and in certain cases, even fought

conferred upon women an enviable place. Women should not misunderstand and misuse the rights which are given

“Nature has given women so much power that the law has very wisely given them little.”
