II. Background of the Study

A web-based system for scheduling and managing churches (Name
of Church) that automatically generates certificates for both new and
current members has been developed to meet the increasing need of
religious organizations for more efficient administrative procedures and
increased member involvement.

Conventional scheduling and membership record management

techniques can be laborious and time-consuming, frequently resulting in
errors and inefficiencies. This system uses web technology to give church
administrators a centralized platform to effectively manage scheduling
tasks like volunteer assignments, event planning, and facility reservations.
It also automates the process of creating certificates for new members
upon registration and for current members as needed, improving the
overall effectiveness of the organization and the experience of its
members.

III. Context of the Project

Religious institutions are realizing the benefits of implementing

digital solutions to improve member experiences and streamline
operations in a world where technology is omnipresent and quickly
digitizing. It might be difficult to plan activities and interact with members in
an effective manner when using outdated techniques to maintain church
schedules and membership records. This project aims to address these
issues by creating a web-based system for managing and scheduling
churches that includes an auto-generate certificate feature. The system
will be user-friendly and modern, facilitating efficient scheduling,
automating administrative tasks, and fostering stronger relationships
between church administrators and members in an increasingly digital
environment.

IV. General and Specific Objectives

a. General Objectives
The general objective of the project is to develop a web-based
church scheduling and management system with an auto-generate
certificate feature for both new and existing members, aimed at enhancing
administrative efficiency and member engagement within the church
community.

b. Specific Objectives
1. Develop a user-friendly web interface for church administrators to
manage scheduling tasks, including event coordination, volunteer
assignments, and facility bookings.

2. Implement an automated system for generating certificates for new

members upon registration and for existing members as needed,
ensuring accuracy and efficiency in certificate issuance.

3. Integrate database functionality to securely store and manage

membership records, allowing for easy access and updates by
authorized personnel.

4. Turn on the system's communication tools to promote smooth

communication between church leaders and attendees, increasing
involvement and community outreach.

5. Conduct user testing and feedback sessions to iterate and improve

the system based on user needs and preferences, ensuring optimal
usability and effectiveness.

V. Scope and limitations of the study

This project's scope includes creating a complete online scheduling
and administration system for the church that includes a feature that
automatically generates certificates for both new and current members.
Event planning, facility reservations, volunteer administration, membership
record management, and automated certificate generation are just a few
of the features that the system will offer. It's crucial to recognize some
restrictions within this range, though. They include the degree of
customization possibilities available for certificate templates, potential
limitations on the system's capacity to link with third-party platforms or
current church databases, and the requirement for continuous technical
support and maintenance to guarantee seamless functioning.

VI. Conceptual Framework

Conceptual framework for the web-based church scheduling and
management system with auto-generate certificate functionality revolves
around the seamless integration of technology to streamline administrative
tasks and enhance member engagement within religious organizations. At
its core, the system aims to leverage web-based platforms to centralize
scheduling processes, automate certificate generation for both new and
existing members, and facilitate efficient communication between church
administrators and members.

a. Use of internet and web technologies in the small church

environment
Author: Arthur Joel
MPhil, University of Johannesburg

Summary: Since its conception, the Internet and subsequently Web

technologies have evolved and established itself as a tool of necessity in
many organizational arenas. The Web has infiltrated the work, home and
social environments. Communities are able to communicate and share
information at any time of day, with little or no regard of geographical location.
Communication plays a core role in a community as it is one of the central
facets within any community. The church also has been a great influence
through the ages and continues to play an integral part in the life of the
community. The Internet and Web technologies have lanced its way into the
church environment. Many small churches view the Internet and Web
technologies as not suited for their particular environment. These
technologies are used by their larger counterparts and smaller churches are
often finding themselves at a disadvantage when it comes to financing of
these technologies and technical expertise. The Web if utilized correctly can
become a mechanism of great influence in the small church environment. The
primary focus of this dissertation was to investigate and understand the
implications of incorporating the Internet and Web technologies into the small
church environment. Seeking to understand the receptiveness of these
technologies within the daily lives of the small church body and identifying the
congregation’s awareness towards the use of these tools. The research study
consisted of an in-depth literature review which sets in place the basic
foundation for the dissertation, followed by an empirical survey component.

b. ONLINE REGISTRATION AND RESERVATION SYSTEM FOR ST. JOHN

EVANGELIST CHURCH
Author: Maria Antonette L. Villanueva, Ma. Mariela Villapando, Charlotte
Laurena, and Charlynne Ann Laurena

Summary:
As the technology is emerging around the world, the development of
technology is contributing a great result for the development of our
economy and it also helps our living to be more convenient. This project is
a learning system that helps to improve quality of education and makes
studying and generating reports easier. St. John the Evangelist Church is
a public use property located in A. Mabini Avenue, Tanauan City,
Batangas. It accepts reservation manually. Client reservation has two
options, it can be made through cell phone or landline or the client can go
to the parochial office personally to inquire and make the reservation. In
reserving for the services in St. John the Evangelist Church, the secretary
browses on a record book for the service and will manually find if the
reservation date and time is available for that day. If the service is not
available in the preferred schedule of the client the secretary will ask for
another time and date and will check again if it is available. Then the
secretary will ask the information of the person and the requirements for
making reservation. After the client had completed the reservation, he/she
will have to pay the fee for the service and will be given a receipt. The fee
for each service varies and depends on the details added in each service,
in wedding service from simple nuptial mass to nuptial mass with ctd with
additional carpet and flowers the price would range to 1,650.

VIII. Technology Gap Analysis

Study A:

 ensuring the security and privacy of sensitive information(Members), it's

crucial to implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect this data
from unauthorized access or breaches.
 Small churches may lack the necessary infrastructure and resources to
effectively utilize internet and web technologies. This could include
limitations in terms of internet connectivity, hardware (computers,
smartphones, etc.), and technical expertise among church staff and
volunteers.
 Small churches may struggle to access adequate technical support and
training for implementing and managing internet and web technologies.

Study B:

 Notification System, through text messaging

 The System needs to be upgraded for online payment functions.
 The system must be upgraded for mobile phone access.
 Allowing other email accounts to register on the reservation services of the
church.

II. Background of the Study

Metropolitan Institute of Arts and Sciences, Inc. (MIAS) was founded on

March 5, 2012 by Arch. Maribel Monilla Collado. It is located at 4408
Capricorn St. Maria Luisa Subdivision Camarin, Caloocan City.
Metropolitan Institute of Arts and Sciences, Inc. (MIAS) has eight (8)
branches that can be found in Manila, Lucena, Tacloban, Cebu, Cavite,
Caloocan, Antipolo, and Baliuag Bulacan. MIAS started from a single
proprietorship business—The Center for Technical Profession (CTP)
Review Center that offers programs for architecture, sanitary engineering,
master plumber, Interior design, and criminology reviews. The very site
where the MIAS is located was first been utilized as a branch for Caloocan
area for criminology review with an average of 1500 reviewees per batch
from 2013 - 2017. The branch located in Caloocan in the present day is
now intended not only for reviewees but for senior high and college
students. They are now offering different strand and programs including
STEM, ABM, GAS, HUMMS, and TVL strands for senior high students and
Bachelor of Science in Criminology, Bachelor of Science in Accountancy,
and Bachelor of Science in Real Estate Management for college students.
MIAS now has an average of 1500 - 2000 students and 50 - 80 employees
including the part timer.
An enrollment system, on the other hand, refers to a system that uses
technology to record and manage student information. Unlike to the
traditional and manual enrollment process, which requires the registrar to
search through a mountain of papers one by one for a single student’s
record and wait on the long line of students to get officially enrolled. The
system will allow the registrar to address the student’s concern in an
instant and will also simplify the enrollment process, ensuring accurate
and efficient management of student information for the institute. Every
institution must have an enrollment system in place to have a better
management and avoid inaccurate information about students because
every piece of information about students is critical, and a single error
could affect their academic success.

III. Context of the Project

Due to the increasing numbers of enrollees annually and to the manual

enrollment process at MIAS, the Registrar’s Office are having a lot of
trouble on performing their duties, including double-entering student
records and taking a long time to manually record, manage, retrieve, and
double-check the student information whenever the students have a
concern. A manual method of enrollment system takes longer and usually
causing delays of dealings and the increasing number of enrollees
annually adds to the burden of the registrar, and in order to deal with it, the
researchers will design and develop an enrollment system for Metropolitan
Institute of Arts and Sciences, Inc. using C#.Net and MySQL.

a. Machine Learning and AI in Cancer Prognosis, Prediction, and

Treatment Selection: A Critical Approach

Author: Bo Zhang, Huiping Shi and Hongtao Wang

Summary:

Cancer is a leading cause of morbidity and mortality worldwide. While progress

has been made in the diagnosis, prognosis, and treatment of cancer patients,
individualized and data-driven care remains a challenge. Artificial intelligence
(AI), which is used to predict and automate many cancers, has emerged as a
promising option for improving healthcare accuracy and patient outcomes. AI
applications in oncology include risk assessment, early diagnosis, patient
prognosis estimation, and treatment selection based on deep knowledge.
Machine learning (ML), a subset of AI that enables computers to learn from
training data, has been highly effective at predicting various types of cancer,
including breast, brain, lung, liver, and prostate cancer. In fact, AI and ML have
demonstrated greater accuracy in predicting cancer than clinicians. These
technologies also have the potential to improve the diagnosis, prognosis, and
quality of life of patients with various illnesses, not just cancer. Therefore, it is
important to improve current AI and ML technologies and to develop new
programs to benefit patients. This article examines the use of AI and ML
algorithms in cancer prediction, including their current applications, limitations,
