No of Experiment:- (2)
Name of Experiment:- Connecting resistors in series and parallel
Aim of Experiment :- to study the properties of connecting resistors in series
and parallel.
Theoretical summary-: When a set of resistors are connected in series of the
current flowing in the circuit is one , which is the source current and the
voltage difference between each resistor is directly Proportional to the valve
of the resistance the sum of the voltage drops across the resistors Connected
in the circuit equals the electromotive force of the valve of the equivalent
resistance of the circuit equals the sum of the resistors connected in:-
1- Series Circuit
IT = I1= I2 = I3=I4=……………….. In
VT = V1 + V2 + V3 + V4 + ……….. + Vn
RT = R1 + R2+ R3 + R4 + …………..+ Rn
Devices used-:
1- Voltage source
2- Multimeter
3- Resistors (100, 220 , 330, 470, )Ω
4- Connecting wires
How it works-:
1- Set the source voltage to (10 ) volt
2- Connect the circuit shown in fig (1) and record the valve of the current
and voltage difference each resistor
3- Connect the resistor in parallel in fig (2 ) and record the current and
voltage of the resistor
Practical calculations:-
If the resistance is connected in series
If the resistance is connected in parallel
Discussion:-
Calculate the total current, voltage, current of each resistor and the
Theoretical equivalent resistance in case of series and parallel and
compare the practical and theoretical results.
