INTRODUCTION
Adjectives are those words that accompany nouns and that designate some quality of
that noun.
Adjectives in English can be used to complement any type of sentence, therein lies their
magic and importance.
Adjectives in English are grammatical elements that serve to give characteristics to
people, animals or things. Its function is to offer extra information about the noun in a
sentence. For example, the new guitar was lost, the adjective is new, so we are not
talking about just any guitar, but about the new one.
THE ADJECTIVES
An adjective is a word that accompanies and modifies the noun. You can expand, complement
or quantify its size. They are words that name or indicate qualities, traits and properties of the
names or nouns they accompany.
Adjectives are a type of word that complements a noun or noun to qualify it. There are
two typical structures in sentences with adjectives, depending on whether you use the
verb to be or not.
STRUCTURE 1 STRUCTURE 2
Subject + Verb “To Be” + Adjective Subject+ Vero + Adjective + Noun

The differences in use between adjectives in Spanish and English are agreement and
position with respect to the noun.
TYPES OF ADJECTIVES
Adjectives are used so much in the English language that it is impossible to count how
many there are in total. But what can be known is how many types there are: six and
they are grouped according to the way they affect the noun.
1. QUALIFYING OR DESCRIPTIVE ADJECTIVES
Verb + Descriptive Adjective + Noun
Qualifying adjectives are those that give a physical, emotional or abstract property
to the noun.

The case of demonstrative adjectives determines the position (physical or temporal
proximity or distance) of the noun with respect to the speaker.

As their name indicates, quantitative adjectives allow nouns to be numbered or
grouped by quantity.

Interrogative adjectives are words that ask for information about a noun. These do
not always function as adjectives, but only when they are directly related to a noun.

Numerical adjectives are used to count and are divided into two types: cardinal and
ordinal. The first ones are the number as is (one, two, three…), while the seconds

RULES FOR USE OF ADJECTIVES
1. INVARIABLE
The adjective does not vary regardless of whether it refers to a subject made up
of one or several things or people.
EXAMPLE:

2. IN FRONT OF THE SUBJECT
In most cases, the adjective will be placed in front of the subject..
EXAMPLE:
I watched an awesome show.
3. ORDER OF ADJECTIVES IN ENGLISH
Most of the time, the maximum number of adjectives present in an English
sentence is 3 since adding more makes it difficult to understand the message.
Furthermore, adjectives must always follow the same order: Opinion, size, age,
color, origin, material and purpose..
EXAMPLE:
A comfortable big new blue tight Russian furry jacket.
GRAMMATICAL RULES
The adjective almost always comes To be/ To become / To feel / To look
before the noun. With some verbs the To seem / To smell /To taste

Some words that usually function as adjectives can function as nouns in certain
sentences. The same thing happens with nouns that become adjectives thanks to their
location..

CONCLUSIONS
I conclude by highlighting that this topic at a general level tends to base the important
complement in the expressions in our speech and communication regardless of the
language that people use or try to use respectively, highlighting its aspects of uses and
functions according to situations, its way of forming, when we should use it, etc. Which
allows us to specifically and adequately communicate characteristics, qualities,
comparisons, expressions at their highest level, among other essential aspects..
Adjectives in English are important to build clear and expressive sentences, they allow
comparisons to be made using comparative and superlative forms. We also use them to
describe size, quality, age, color, origin and material. We must make sure that the
adjective we choose fits the context in which it is used.
All of this should always be considered with utmost importance since it allows us at a
broad level to have a better understanding and proper use in the study of languages,
including English, one of the best known, and the way in which it should be
communicated. . appropriately according to the situations. , to express characteristics,
etc.
Everything in a correct way and remember that practice is the best way to master the use
of adjectives in English.
