CAT C12 ENGINE CALIBRATION

FIRST ROUND _ piston number 1 at the top dead center position on the compression
stroke and piston number 6 in overlap, install the timing pin into the flywheel.

CALIBRATE ON THE CYLINDERS

intake valve 1, 2, and 4 clearance
exhaust valve 1, 3, and, 5 adjustment(0.015)in
clearance
injectors 3, 5, and, 6 180 degree adjustment
Engine brake 1, 3, and, 5 Clearance
Adjustment(0.040)in

SECOND Turn _ remove the timing pin and turn the flywheel 360 degrees in the
direction of engine rotation. This will put the number 6 piston in the top center position
on the compression stroke and the number 1 piston in overlap, install the timing pin into
the flywheel.
