FORMAT FOR PRESENTING RESEARCH PAPERS

ARCHITECTURAL HERITAGE MANAGEMENT

1.- PRESENTATION FORMAT INDICATIONS

1.1. BODY OF RESEARCH WORK

The body of the research work is divided into: Introduction, Methodology,
Results and Discussion of results (IMRYD); then the Conclusions are
presented, and then the Bibliographic References and Annexes.

1.2. RESEARCH PAPER TEXT

All pages must be numbered at the bottom (footer). 2.54 cm margins on all
sides, 1.5 line spacing, 12-point Times New Roman font, justified text, A4
format. The length of research papers should be around 5,000 words
(maximum 20 pages, including graphs (statistical with SigmaPlot), tables,
references (ENDnote or Mendeley); minimum 3,500 and maximum 8,000
words. The current style recommended in the manuals must be followed.

1.3 BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES

The style recommended in the Manual is used as a model for the
construction of references. For this, the ENDnote software will be used, and
the MENDELEY software can also be used.

1.5. ACRONYM
If acronyms are used in the text, figures or tables, the complete equivalent
must be provided the first time they are used and enclosed in parentheses.
When citing well-known figures, you should include their full names or
surnames; never use abbreviations.

1.6. FIGURES AND TABLES

Figures (graphs, diagrams, illustrations, plans, maps or photographs) and
tables must be numbered and contain a title or explanatory legend related to
the topic of the research work (Figure 1. xxxxx, Table 1. xxxx, etc.) and the
origin (source: author or source, year, page). These should be cited directly
in the text.

1.7. PHOTOGRAPHS
Photographs must be digitized, otherwise they must be digitized with a
resolution equal to or greater than 300 dpi for color images and 600 for
grayscale. Image formats can be TIFF, PSD or JPG, and must comply with
the characteristics expressed in the previous point (graphics).

1.8. PLANIMETRY
The planimetry must be original, digitalized in CAD format, and its
respective pen files or in PDF. They must have a graphic scale, numerical
scale, north, coordinates and location.

1.9. FORMULA EDITION

The editor to be used in editing equations, formulas, mathematical models,
physical models will be the LATEX editor

2. PRESENTATION CONTENT

2.1. TITLE IN FORMAT OF THE RESEARCH REGULATIONS

It should not exceed 15 words, written in English and Spanish.

2.2. SUMMARY
It must be analytical, written in a single paragraph, and describe the topic,
introduction, methodology, results, discussion and conclusions; it must not
exceed 250 words and must be written in Spanish and English (approved by
a school specialist).

2.3. KEYWORDS
It must contain between three and five words or groups of words, arranged
alphabetically and not found in the title or subtitle; these serve to classify the
research work thematically.
2.4. INTRODUCTION
This section reflects the context and importance of the problem of the
research work. It must express the statement of the problem and the
theoretical background (fifteen). The definition of the study problem must be
clear, with the formulation of objectives and/or hypotheses. The research
objectives will be written at the end of this section, which will clearly specify
and delimit the purpose and scope of the study carried out. They should be
the same as those stated in the summary and consistent with the
conclusions.

2.5. METHODOLOGY
The methodological approach and the data collection and analysis
techniques should be indicated (one citation). The most relevant and
exclusive aspects of the work will be described, which allows knowing how
the research work was carried out. It will include: places and dates of
completion, factors and levels under study, treatment design, unit and
experimental design, variables evaluated along with their units and form of
measurement (two citations), materials, equipment (make and model) and
techniques used, management of the experiment, procedures and statistical
analysis techniques (two citations). If extensive methodologies are used and
can be consulted in a manual or specialized publication, the corresponding
citation must be referenced. Any changes to these generalised methods must
be declared.

2.6. RESULTS AND DISCUSSION

They must be clearly presented in accordance with the objectives and/or
hypotheses raised. They are results obtained or facts observed, derived from
the application of methodologies in an orderly, objective and concise manner.
Tables and figures (graphs, photographs, plans) may be presented, which
must be sufficient in themselves to be interpreted without repeating the
information presented in the text.
It is necessary to consider the elements derived from statistical analysis, for
which reference will be made to the existence or not of statistical inferences
as well as the risk measures assumed by the researcher when making such
statements.
The reason for the results obtained and their relationship with the hypothesis
and objectives will be explained, supported by the confirmation of results and
reflections present in the scientific literature related to the topic, each relevant
result will be related to a discussion.

2.7. CONCLUSIONS
They must be presented as a coherent and critical analysis of the results
obtained in the research, and the reason or explanation for said statement
must be included in a brief, concise and precise manner, and will not exceed
150 words.

2.8. ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
These are recognitions to people, institutions, funds and research grants,
among others, that have in some way supported or collaborated in an
important way in the development of the study.

2.9. BIBLIOGRAPHIC REFERENCES

The literature used must be presented both in the textual citations of the text
and the bibliographical references in the manual format. The bibliographical
references must be at least 20 citations from scientific articles, preferably
from the last 5 years.
2.10. ANNEXES
Include relevant information from the research work, which must be cited in
the body of the text.
