30. Find the sum of those integers between 1 and 500 which are multiple of 2 as well as 5.
31. At a certain time in a deer park, the number of heads and the number of legs of deer
and human visitors were counted and it was found that there were 39 heads and 132
legs. Find the number of deer and human visitors in the park.
OR
A number consists of two digits. When it is divided by the sum of the digits, the
quotient is 6 with no remainder. When the number is diminished by 9, the digits are
reversed.
SECTION D (4X 5= 20marks)
32. The sum of the numerator and denominator of a fraction is 4 more than twice the
numerator. If the numerator and denominator are increased by 3, they are in the ratio
2 : 3. Determine the fraction.
33. A train travels 360 km at a uniform speed. If the speed had been 5 km /hr more, it would
have taken 1 hour less for the same journey. Form the quadratic equation to find the speed
of the train..

The diagonal of a rectangular field is 60m more than shorter side. If the longer side
is 30m more than the shorter side, find the sides of the field..

36. Ajith and Aman are architects by profession, visited France. They went to see Mont
Blanc Tunnel which is a highway tunnel between France and Italy, under the Mont Blanc
Mountain in the Alps, and has a parabolic cross-section. The mathematical
representation of the tunnel is shown in the graph.

Based on the above information, answer the following questions.


i) Find the zeroes of the polynomial whose graph is given. (1mark)
ii) Find a polynomial which represents the above graph . (1mark)
iii) If the tunnel is represented by -x 2+3x-2. Then find its zeroes .

If one of the zero is 4 and sum of zeroes is -3, then find a representation
of tunnel as a polynomial .
37. Hang gliding is an air sport or recreational activity in which a pilot flies a light,
nonmotorised, foot-launched, heavier-than-air aircraft called a hang glider. Most
modern hang gliders are made of an aluminium alloy or composite frame covered with
synthetic sailcloth to form a wing. Typically the pilot is in a harness suspended from the
airframe, and controls the aircraft by shifting body weight in opposition to a control
frame. Aakash, an aeronautical engineer, prepared a model Hang glider using coordinate
system such that A(8,9),B(14,17) and E(2,1)

i. What is the distance between point A and point B ? (1mark)


ii. Name the type of the triangle formed by A,B and E? (2marks)
iii. Point C is midpoint of arm AB , what are the coordinates of point C ?

38. Janvi wants to buy a car and plans to take loan from a bank for her car. She repays her
total loan of ₹ 1,18,000 by paying every month starting with the first instalment of ₹
1000. If she increases the instalment by ₹ 100 every month, answer the following:

i) Find the amount paid by her in 30th installment . (1mark)


ii) What amount does she still have to pay after 30th installment? (1mark)
iii) If total installments are 40 then find the amount paid in the last installment.

OR
Find the ratio of the 1st installment to the last installment .
