IMPORTANT FOR STUDENTS
Admissions for International Students are open w.e.f.
Saturday, 20th April 2024 for the Undergraduate/
Postgraduate and Special courses of Study (Diploma and
Certificate Courses) during the Academic session 2024-25.
However, the application for Ph.D. programme will be
entertained round the year.
The details of filling the application are as follows:
The applications of the candidates for provisional admission in various
courses shall be considered if they meet all the eligibility requirements.
15% of the total intake in different courses is earmarked for foreign
nationals/NRI(s)/PIOs & for the children's of the Indian nationals
working in the Gulf & South East Asian Countries. Foreign Nationals:
Shall mean the citizens of all countries other than India, who are not
of Indian origin as defined under PIO.
The educational qualifications for foreign nationals are also the same
as applicable for Indian Students and given on the BHU website
(www.bhuonline.in). However, the students of above categories are not
subjected to appear in any Entrance Test for admission.
There is no minimum and upper age limit for foreign nationals (except
for medical and IIT courses).
For the eligibility and relevant requirements for admission to the
Undergraduate/Postgraduate/Ph.D./Special courses of Study (Diploma
and Certificate) courses, refer INFORMATION BULLETINS of UET/ PET

the respective academic session on the website www.bhu.ac.in. and
www.bhuonline.in
The admission process for Undergraduate/Postgraduate and Special
courses of Study (Diploma and Certificate) Courses etc. normally starts
in March-April every year.
In no case request for change of option (Course/Subject) and refund of
fees will be entrained.
Existing fees/charges are subject to revision and payment of revised
amount at the time of admission and in subsequent duration of study
shall be applicable.
General request for any financial assistance and waiver of
fees/charges will not be entertained.
The International candidates shall be considered for admission to the
courses of the University, subject to fulfilling the eligibility
requirements and equivalence of the degree possessed by them to the
corresponding degrees/examinations of the Indian
Institutions/Universities, recognized by the Association of Indian
Universities (AIU), New Delhi.
The Processing Charges and Development fee are to be paid at
International Centre in the form of transfer electronically in INR. to
Account no.: 10654904247, Account Name: Special Fund (IFSC Code:
SBIN0000211) and attach receipt to support.
Merely submission of application for a course does not entitle a
candidate to be considered for admission to a course until and unless
he/she fulfills the eligibility conditions.
All the students are expected to put up Full Attendance during the
Academic Session.
The Hostel accommodation is not guaranteed. However, the
applications for same may be considered subject to availability of
accommodation.
Application for Ph.D. programme and Short term Affiliations can be
made at any time of the year.
The International students will abide by the rules and regulations of
the University/Institution and the code of conduct as applicable.
Further they should not involve in any protests, strikes, unlawful group
activities and not to plead ignorance of the rules and regulations
contained under the statutes and the ordinances of the University and
also any notified modification made from time to time in this regard.
ADMISSION TO Ph.D. PROGRAMME WILL BE CONSIDERED SUBJECT
TO THE CONDITION THAT:
The applications shall be routed through the respective
Embassies/Mission in India (for self financing candidates).
The degree possessed by them entitles them for enrolment/admission
as Ph.D. Scholars/Students in their own countries, in addition to
fulfillment of the eligibility and other requirements as per University
rules.
English Proficiency certificate of TOEFL (minimum 70 marks) or IELTS
(minimum 6 bands) score is mandatory for foreign candidates at the
time of submission of application form for the admission in the
University if the medium of instruction of the qualifying examination is
not in English.
In case, the candidate is unable to provide any of these
scores/certificate or English Proficiency certificate then they may
appear in the English Proficiency test conducted by the Banaras Hindu
University and must clear Intermediate (10+2) level course and need an
overall minimum score of 40% for confirmation of admission. For
details in this regard, the Office of the Controller of Examinations of
the University may be contacted.
Admission to the Ph.D. Courses is done twice i.e. January and July
term in an academic year.
Candidates may report in the months of January or July of the
academic year for taking admission in the respective semester, after
procuring Research Visa issued by the Indian Embassies Abroad
subsequent to receiving the eligibility letter from the University.
However in order to avoid any inconvenience on their arrival in the
University, the candidate may contact the International Centre for the
admission programme of respective semester, prior to leaving their
country for the purpose.
For MBA/ MBA (International Business)/ MBA in Agri-Business:
The admission to the supernumerary seats meant for Foreign Nationals
be made on the basis of combined merit of GMAT score and online
interview.
The admissions will be completed in the month of July every year for
above courses. (except for MBA in Agri-Business)
Candidates from Iran:
Required to submit the No Objection Certificate, issued by the Embassy
of Islamic Republic of Iran in India for granting admission to the
course of this University.
Candidates from Tibet:
Candidates from Tibet are exempted from paying Development fee
from the academic session 2019-20 and onwards.
IMPORTANT:
In order to avoid any inconvenience upon their arrival in the University,
the candidates who have been offered provisional admission may
contact the International Centre much in advance for the admission
programme of respective semester prior to leaving their Country for
the purpose.
Limited hostel/residential accommodation is available in the University
campus and the accommodation may be provided subject to
availability of vacancy in the International Hostels.
