3. What is the effect of the integration of BookTok as an instructional
material to the level of reading comprehension of Grade-7 students?

Method

A. Research Design

The researchers will use an action research design. Action research

pertains to a study that aims to provide a solution or an intervention to an
existing problem. Moreover, the researchers will use a mixed method,
quantitative and qualitative method, to ensure the validity of the data
being gathered. The quantitative method includes the use of survey with
close-ended questions and the standardized reading comprehension
assessment tool to be administered to the respondents at the end of the
intervention program. The qualitative method covers the second part of
the survey which is open-ended questions.

B. Population

The population of the study consists of Grade-7 students from Section A.

C. Instrument

The researchers will use a survey with close-ended and open-ended

questions and a standardized reading comprehension assessment. The
survey will be administered to the respondents. It contains questions
about the factors that cause students’ difficulty in reading comprehension
and the strategies they apply to overcome it. BookTok will be integrated in
the class discussion as an instructional material. The BookTok videos
