Song: King Arthurs story is in general about a chivalric king who saved and
unites brittain and drove away the saxons. Germanic people fro m the worth
sea. Often times his stories involve his wife Guenivere, the lady of the lake
and his legendary sword, excalibur. In the setting of Gawain and the green
knight is in camelot , which is the center point of king Arthurs kingdom.
Gawain heads north to wales. the setting of where gawain takes place is
heavily influenced by pagan traditions like how connected he is to nature.

Yin

Mona: Sir Gawain and the Green Knight," the story presents moral and
ethical dilemmas that connect with Christian teachings. Gawain encounters
various challenges during his journey, including the tempting advances of
Lady Bertilak. These dilemmas serve as tests for Gawain's commitment to
his moral principles and faith. He must resist temptation and stay true to his
Christian beliefs, highlighting the importance of making choices even when
faced with difficult situations

Shield

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight, the symbol on Sir Gawain's shield is
described as a pentangle, also known as a pentagram or a five-pointed star.
The pentangle is a significant emblem with various symbolic meanings.

The pentangle on Gawain's shield represents the five virtues that Gawain
embodies: friendship, generosity, chastity, courtesy, and piety. Each point of
the star symbolizes one of these virtues, and the lines connecting the points
represent their 5 senses?
Overall, the pentangle on Sir Gawain's shield serves as a visual
representation of his noble character and show chivalry. It signifies his
commitment to honor, virtue, and his quest for perfection.

Arthur, also known as a legendary leader, fights against invading Anglo-Saxon forces and strives
to unite the kingdoms of Britain under his rule in the early medieval period. While the historical
existence of the legends reflects broader themes of cultural identity, some political powers reflect
governance, leadership, and feudal society.

The Arthurian legends were not confined to Britain but spread across Europe through medieval
literature and cultural exchange. The French and German are likely to adapt and expand upon the
Arthurian stories, incorporating themes of courtly love, chivalry, and knightly adventures into
their own literary traditions.
Through the stories that shaped and reshaped from the past from their early origins in Celtic
mythology towards the modern culture, the Arthurian legends continue to captivate audiences
and inspire imaginations around the world.
