Abstract of the Project Proposal (Max 100 words):
This project is dedicated to design and optimization of axial flux motors, aiming to replace
conventional radial flux motors in Electric vehicles and wind generator applications. Traditional
motors often suffer from limitations in torque production and power-to-weight ratio, these
concerns are addressed in an axial flux motor.
The project focuses on maximizing the power-to-weight ratio of axial flux motors by
carefully selecting materials, shaping for efficiency, employing unique coil winding techniques
and the fabrication of an optimized motor through advanced manufacturing processes.
B. Scientific/Technical Information
Introduction-Aim and Objectives (Max 200 words):
AIM: To design and develop an Axial flux motor suited for EVs and Wind Generator
applications.
Objectives:
• To design an axial flux motor and perform multidomain performance analysis.
1
• To find optimal magnet and winding shapes for a given specification.
• To manufacture the motor and test it under various conditions.
Finally, rigorous testing procedures are implemented, and the results are systematically
documented for thorough analysis and improvement. The project covers the entire lifecycle of
motor design, from conceptualization and optimization to manufacturing and testing.
