there lived a young Hebrew boy in Egypt.
His name was Moses.
Though he was raised in the palace
palace,
he preferred to be with his own people,
the Israelites, who were slaves in Egypt.

Moses knew that God
had chosen him to deliver
the Israelites from slavery,
but he wasn’t sure how.

 Moses and his wife made
Midian their home.
Soon, he became a shepherd,
looking after his
father-in-law’s flocks.

all Moses had on him was an
ordinary shepherd’s rod,
which he used to guide the flocks
until he saw the burning bush.

 The Lord used the burning bush
to get Moses’ attention, and it worked.
Moses stopped to see,
and God spoke to him from the fire.
“Go back to Egypt and tell Pharaoh
to let my people go!”

 Moses was unwilling to go back
because he was fearful of Pharaoh
and didn’t think the Israelites
would believe him.
Then, the Lord said to him,
“What’s that in your hand?”
“A rod,” Moses replied.

So, Moses threw the rod on the ground,
and it immediately turned into a snake.
“Pick it up by the tail!”
the Lord told him.
And when Moses did this,
that ordinary shepherd’s rod
became an extraordinary rod,
the rod of God!

Moses was bold to go back to Egypt.
He told his people how
the Lord appeared to him;
what the Lord said to them,
and how He would
deliver them from Pharaoh.
He boldly told Pharaoh
to let the Israelites go,
but Pharaoh refused.

Moses performed many great signs
before Pharaoh and his magicians.
With that rod,
he brought many plagues upon
the land of Egypt.
There were ten plagues altogether.

Pharaoh agreed to let the Israelites go.
But soon,
he chased after them into the Red Sea.
And yet again,
by stretching forth his hands to the Sea,
Moses parted the water for the
Israelites to walk through on dry land.
But all the Egyptians were
drowned in the Sea.

HOW THE SHEPHERD’S ROD
BECAME THE ROD OF GOD.
I’VE LEARNED SO MUCH.
INDEED, WE AREN’T
ORDINARY BECAUSE
THE LORD’S PRESENCE

THAT’S RIGHT.
THIS IS ONE OF THE
REASONS WE MUST ALWAYS
BE FILLED WITH THE
HOLY SPIRIT. THAT’S HOW

 THAT’S THE RIGHT
ATTITUDE, KIM. WITHOUT
GOD’S PRESENCE, MOSES COULD
NEVER HAVE FULFILLED THE PLAN OF
GOD FOR HIS LIFE. THE BIBLE SAYS,
“HOW GOD ANOINTED JESUS OF NAZARETH
WITH THE HOLY SPIRIT AND WITH POWER,
WHO WENT ABOUT DOING GOOD AND HEALING
ALL WHO WERE OPPRESSED BY THE DEVIL, FOR GOD
WAS WITH HIM” (ACTS 10:38). FOR US TO HAVE
EXTRAORDINARY RESULTS AND IMPACT ON THE
WORLD FOR JESUS, WE MUST BE FILLED
WITH GOD’S GLORIOUS PRESENCE.
HIS PRESENCE MAKES US
EXTRAORDINARY.

LIFE BY SAYING THE PRAYER BELOW:
DEAR HEAVENLY FATHER, I BELIEVE
WITH ALL MY HEART IN JESUS CHRIST,
