RULES FOR EVENTS

Fine Arts Events


1. Photomontage (Collage Making) Event Incharge: [81460-03392]

Rules
1. Only one participant per team is allowed. Theme for Photomontage:
2. Time allowed for COLLAGE (Poster) will be 1 hour. To be given at the spot.
3. The participants are required to get their own materials.
4. The topic will be announced on the spot.
5. All poster entries must include the aforementioned theme or a creative quotation related to the
above, in English.
6. The poster should be made on “IVORY SHEET” of 14 x 22 inches.
7. The student can use electronic waste like obsolete electronic devices such as memory card, CD,
video tapes, RAM, wires, switches and telecommunication devices such as cellular phones, SIM
card, audio-video devices apart from the standard use of magazines, newspapers etc.
8. Use of Images is not allowed.
9. The poster must be prepared on the spot and within the allotted time i.e. 1 Hour.
10. The poster display should include Team Code.
11. Criteria for judgment will be based on Creativity, presentation, Originality, resource utilization
and Relevance to the theme.
12. Only Ivory sheets shall be provided by the organizers.
13. The decision of the Judges will be final.
2. Henna (Mehndi) Event Incharge: Ms. Paramjit Kaur [98156-14796]

Rules
1. Students must participate in teams comprising of 2 students.
2. Time that will be given to teams on the event will be 90 minutes. Theme for HENNA:
3. Each team must bring its own material to be used for mehndi. To be given at the spot.
4. One hand with front and back shall be evaluated
5. Teams will be evaluated based on
i) Creativity ii) Neatness iii) Coverage
3. Kabaad Se Jugaad (Best Out of Waste) Event Incharge: [98881-87080]

Rules
1. Team shall consist of 2 students only.
2. Maximum time allowed is 1 Hour and 30 Minutes.
3. Participants will have to bring their own waste material.
4. Participants are requested to be as environmentally friendly as possible.
5. No access to the internet or use of mobiles during the event
6. Judgment will be based upon usefulness of the made product, creativity, innovation, neatness,
and Technical Prowess of the work.
7. Decision of the judges will be final and binding on all teams.
4. Brush Hour (On the Spot Painting) Event Incharge: Ms. Shikha Sharma [90413-16601]

Rules
1. Each team will be represented by one participant.
2. Event will be conducted on the spot and participants will be requested to do painting on the subject
given by the in charge(s) of the competition.
3. Maximum duration will be 1 hour and 30 minutes. Theme for Brush Hour:
4. Size of the painting will be half imperial size drawing paper To be given at the spot.
i.e. 22 inches x15 inches.
5. Painting can be done in oil, water, poster or pastel colors.
6. Candidates shall bring their own material like brushes, paints etc. Only the paper/ sheet will be
provided by the institute.
5. Rang Birangi (Rangoli) Event Incharge: Ms. Kiran [96466-23448]

Rules
1. Only one participant per team will be entertained.
2. Maximum duration will not be more than 2 hour 30 minutes and minimum should be 2 hours.
3. Participant shall bring his/her own material. Theme for Rang Birangi:
4. This art is known differently in various regions such To be given at the Spot
as mandna, alpana, alekhan, kolam, rangoli etc.
5. For this the medium and the form for expression can be free hand pictorial descriptive.
6. Only one medium shall be used – powder color or flower petals or saw dust or pulses or rice without
pasting.
7. The participants shall have to prepare a rangoli with in the space provided by the organizers.
8. The size of the rangoli will be 2’x2’ to 4’x4’ with a permissible variation of 5% of the size of
rangoli.
Literary Events
6. Bujho To Jaano (Quiz) Event Incharge: [8054010210]

Rules
1.The number of participants in each team is 3.
2.Participating teams must appear for the preliminary round, which will contain 15 Multiple
Choice Questions based on current Affairs, to be answered in 10 minutes.
3. Four teams will be shortlisted for the final round.
4. There will be four rounds based on- General awareness, Brand names, Information Technology,
and Sports.
5. Rules for each round will be announced on the spot.
6. The first response will be considered as the final answer in each round.
7. Decision of the Quiz Master will be final.
7. Aamne Saamne (Debate) Event Incharge: Ms. Kavita Verma [78889-42088]

Rules
1. Each Team shall be represented by two debaters; one will speak FOR, while the other shall speak
AGAINST the motion. Topic for Amne Saamne:

Rules
1. Team can consist of 3 members.
2. Each team can submit one plan for the competition.
3. The B-plan proposal document must be in power point presentation format.
4. Time limit for presentation will be 5 minutes. With additional 2 minutes for Q&A.
5. Hard copy of the business plan to be carried along and should be submitted to the event
coordinator before the commencement of the event.
6. Judgment will be based on the basis of Idea, profit, marketability, overall feasibility and
presentation.
Cultural Events
9. Halla Bol (Nukkad Natak) Event Incharge: Kanika Chopra [95010-15920]

Rules
Theme : Any Social issue
No. of Participants per team : 7-10
Time Limit : Teams should restrict their play to 15 min.(12+3)
Warning Bell : 12 minutes
Final Bell : 15 minutes
Language of the Play : English/ Hindi/Punjabi
General Instructions for Street Play Competition
1. The competition will be conducted in open space. No microphones, speakers, music system will be
allowed or available. Teams can sing/dance by themselves to create the necessary music or sound.
2. Teams using any Props/Costumes/Dresses must bring all their requirements and must be ready well
in time as per instructions of the organizer. No props or costume or any material will be provided
by the host institution.
3. No time for stage setting will be given during the competition.
4. Decision of judges will be final and binding on all teams.
5. Use of vulgar language is prohibited.
6. Use of unnecessary props is discouraged. Face painting & costume will not be considered as
props.
10. Vigyapan Vaar (Ad Mad Show) Event Incharge: Mr. Sunny Gulati [9888522126]

Rules
1. Time allowed is 2 – 4 minutes per team.
2. The team shall consist of 3-5 members.
3. Topic/Products/Services for the Ad Making are Mobiles, Matrimonial service, Soft Drinks,
Deodorant, Eco- friendly car, Washing powder.
4. Judgment will be based on the basis of Role Play/Acting, Dialog Delivery, Creativity, Expression
and Relevance to the provided topic.
5. No exposure to biasness against any caste/creed/community or religion is permitted.
6. Use of Vulgar/non-parliamentary expressions and language will lead to disqualification of team.
11. Khazane ki Khoj (Treasure Hunt) Event Incharge: Mr. Kanwal Gurleen Singh [98762-30542]

Rules
1. The team shall consist of 5 members.
2. Each team will be allotted a color and will have to follow the directions written on their clues.
3. Maximum time allowed is 40 minutes.
4. The team taking the minimum amount of time to discover the treasure and handover to the event
coordinator will be declared as winner.
5. The team interfering in other team clues shall be disqualified.
12. Folk and Fusion (Group Dance) Event Incharge: Mr. Amarpreet Singh [97809-97799]

Rules
1. Maximum number of participants allowed is (8-12). The team may consist of all boys all girls or
a mixture of both.
2. The number of accompanists permissible is five.
3. Teams can have recorded tracks or live singing accompanist. Instruments (if any) are to be
arranged by the participants only
4. The dance can be either primitives or folk dance (Indian Style).
5. Time allowed is 6 – 8 minutes.
6. The participating team will be responsible for removal of their sets, properties etc., immediately
after the completion of their performance.
7. Judgment will be based on the basis of Rhythm, Formation, Expression, Costumes, make-up, sets
and overall effect.
8. If the participating team will not report for preliminary round in time, will be considered
disqualified automatically.
13. Taal Se Chaal Mila (Solo Dance) Event Incharge: Mr. Gurpreet Singh [78370-12830]

Rules
1. Only One Participant is allowed per entry.
2. Recorded song may be mixture of Hindi, Punjabi and Western song.
3. Track will be played on the spot by the event in-charges.
4. Decision of judges will be based on
i) Face expressions
ii) Synchronization with change of Song.
iii) Stage coverage.
iv) Hands and body movements according to rhythm.
5. Decision of event coordinator for short listing will be final.
6. No accompanist is allowed.

14. Hasya Rasa (Stand Up Comedy/Mimicry/Mono Acting) Ms. Rajveer Kaur [84274-60255]

Rules
1. Each student artist shall be given maximum time of 4 minutes and minimum of 3 minutes per item.
2. Participants may mimic sound of machines and speeches of well-known persons etc. including film
personalities. Or they can do a stand-up comedy in English/Punjabi/Hindi or they can do a solo
enactment.
3. Only one participant per team is allowed.
4. Marking will be based on
i) Skill imitating
ii) Variety of sound and voices imitated/Laughter generated etc.
iii) Presentation
5. Medium of expression will be in Hindi or English or Punjabi.
6. It should necessarily be cultured and pleasant piece of art.
7. Use of vulgar or un-parliamentary language shall lead to disqualification. The performer should
not hurt the sentiments of any religion or caste.

15. Sa Re Ga Ma (Light Vocal-Indian/ Solo Singing) Event Incharge: Dr. Anuradha Manhas [8684-826626]

1. Only one participant per team is allowed.


2. Time for stage/instruments settings is maximum 3 minutes.
3. Maximum number of accompanists is 3.
4. Duration of the song shall be between 3-4 minutes.
5. Any Song/Geet/Ghazal/Bhajan/Shabad can be presented. Judgment will be based on the qualities
like Taal selection of raga, composition and general impression.
6. Use of recorded background track is also permitted, but the same has to be submitted to the event
coordinator 30 minutes before the commencement of the event.
7. Participants should bring their own musical instruments.
8. Live performance with music/accompanists shall carry more weightage.

16. FashionFiesta (Fashion Show) Event Incharge: Ms. Arushi [98729-46902]

Rules
1. Each team should showcase the clothes based on a theme.
2. Number of participants in a team can be 8-12.
3. Each team shall be given a time of 8-10 minutes to show case their theme-based show.
4. The team should carry the music to be played for their fashion show in a pen drive and the format
of the file should be MP3 format.
5. No material of whatsoever nature shall be provided by the college, all arrangements needful for the
show shall be the responsibility of the team.
6. The team must arrange the stage for their performance and make sure they clean it up after their
event is over.
7. Any indecency, vulgarity of what-so ever nature shall lead to disqualification of the team.
8. Any kind of misbehaviour from any team member(s) shall lead to the disqualification of the team.
9. The team has no right to challenge the decision of the judges. The decision of the judges shall be
final.
Science and Technology Events
17. Webwhiz (Web Designing) Event Incharge: Dr. Amarjeet Kaur [70875-65422]

Rules Topics for Webwhiz:


1. Maximum 2 members per team are allowed. To be given at the Spot
2. Topic will be announced on the spot.
3. Total time allowed for event will be 1 hr 30 Minutes out of which 30 minutes will be given for
downloading and information gathering and 1 hour for development.
4. Software to be used can be HTML, DHTML, JQuery, CSS or WAMPSERVER/ XAMP.
5. Use of Plug-ins and Build-in sliders is not allowed.
6. Pre-designed images can be used.
7. Decision of the judges will be final and binding on all participants.
18. Google Doodle (Net-Savvy) Event Incharge: Mr. Vikas Kumar [96468-31262]

Rules To be given at the Spot
1. Maximum 2 members per team will be allowed.
2. Topic for presentation will be given on the spot.
3. Maximum time of the event is 1 hr 30 min out of which only 1 hr will be given for net surfing and
downloading.
4. Participant can prepare a Word File not exceeding 8 pages OR A Presentation consisting of
maximum 10 PowerPoint slides (including Title slide), with slide transitions, animations or
'movement' of any description. Additional electronic media like sound and video files, is permitted.
5. Judgment shall be based upon relevance to the topic/theme given and the relevance of images and
objects used etc.
6. Whether source has been provided wherever necessary or not, formatting and uniformity in the
document and the overall impression shall be considered for final judgment.
7. Judgment will be based on Introduction of topic, clarity and logical sequence of presentation,
explanation of the terminology used, adequacy of background information provided to illustrate
the points and adequacy of time spent on each element of their presentation.
8. Decision of the judges will be final and binding on all participants.
19. League of Logics (Logic Testing) Event Incharge: Mr. Rajiv Kumar [98555-01854]

Rules:
1.Team shall consist of 2 students.
2.Total duration to complete the program will be of 1 hour 30 Minutes.
3.Program to test the logic will be given on spot. Topics for Logic Testing:

& Python.
5. Judgment of this event will be on the basis of solution strategy used to solve the problem,
correctness, completeness, time/ space requirements and user interface of the program.
6. Decision of the judges will be final and binding on all participants.
20. Scramble the Code (Debugging) Event Incharge: Mr. Rohit Verma [987-264-5292]

Rules
Team shall consist of two participants.
1.
Program for debugging and its expected output will be given on the spot.
2.
Program given for debugging will be in C/C++.
3.
Topics for Debugging:
Time for debugging will be 30 Minutes.

The algorithm to solve the problem should not be changed.
5.
Judgment will be based upon time taken, correctness of the solution.

21. LAN E-sports (Network LAN Gaming) Event Incharge Ms. Nisha Sharma [90411-57419]

Rules
1. Individual participation shall be considered as a team.
2. The game shall be Need for Speed (Version 2).
3. The game and car settings shall be finalized on the spot by the event coordinator.
4. The rounds of the tournament will be pure knock out.
5. The course and direction will be decided by the referee.
6. Players have to check the controls before playing the match. Complaints about the change of
control will not be entertained.
7. Intentional Disconnection: Upon judgment by the referee, any offending player shall be
disqualified.
8. When any disconnection occurs: **If the disconnection is deemed to be unintentional by the
referee, the match will be restarted. If any player does not agree to a match restart, that player
will lose by default.
9. The decision of the referee will be full and final.
N.B: Multiple entries from the College/Institute/University are allowed for every event. However, one student can
register for one event only.
