13th October, 2017.

The Human Resources Manager,

Medecins Sans Frontieres-France,
P.O Box 2736,
Blantyre.

Dear Sir/Madam,

APPLICATION FOR THE POSITION OF SOCIAL WORKER

Reference is made to the above post that has been advertised in your organization. I
would like to apply for this post as I see it as a great opportunity for me to bring
significant contributions to the rural communities with the experience I have acquired
and the interest I have developed in community social work.

I am currently working with Plan International Malawi, as a Child Sponsorship Facilitator

in Mulanje Program Area but my contract expires in December 2017. I am a holder of
Diploma in Community and Rural Development.
I have a vast experience in community social work as I have spent 8 years working with
other professions to play a key role in helping children, adults and families to take
control of and to improve their lives in conditions where their security, safety or ability to
participate in civic life are restricted. I have also been encouraging creative ways of
working to resolve the challenges vulnerable people face and aim to promote
empowerment, enabling people to take action to improve their lives.
During those years i have been working in communities, i have mastered great
knowledge and skills in doing social work and managing quality programs and also I have
managed to establish working relationships among community groups as well as the
traditional leaders and various social leaders in the communities. I have also enhanced
the capacities of children and parents to progressively realize their right to good health
as well as education. Social work is deeply rewarding profession that allows me to say at
the end of each day, “I have made a difference in someone’s life”

Attached are my Curriculum Vitae for more details about me and copies of my
certificates.

I am confident my knowledge, experience as well as my interest to work with the

communities as a Social worker will allow me to add significant value to Medecins Sans
Frontieres in mitigating the impact of HIV and AIDS and decrease new HIV infections.

I therefore look forward to hearing from you soon.

Yours Sincerely

Rodgers Nasekwa
