Sustainability is looked at as the way forward to solve problems with solutions

that are Environmentally feasible, Socially acceptable, and economically viable.

Introduction to Urban farming leads to the use of unproductive green areas into
productive green areas, This also paves the path to social engagement where
the citizens responsible for the maintenance and sustenance of the farm tend
to meet each other and share a quality time that will, turn, help them know
each other. The other advantages of such interventions are reducing the carbon
footprint by shortening the food supply chain, improving air quality, and reducing
urban heat. Local farming in turn not only boosts the social quality but also
provides nutritious food. Such practices can also bring economic opportunities,
as selling locally grown produce could bring income into the community.
The Site consists of different urban housing estates
that are surrounded by passively used green spaces that
pose a challenge to the surroundings rather than comfort
compiled with unused spaces that have the potential to
change the dynamics of the streets they are attached to
also recognizing neglected play areas that are not being used.

Pavilion, ST Mary Church

St. Mary, Because of its rich history and priceless

architecture, St. Mary, a well-known monument
that draws visitors from all over the nation, is a
likely location to take into consideration. Due to
its location at the start of south Redcliffe, the
church attracts large people at all seasons.
ST MARY CHURCH
People come and go, admiring the building, and
frequent activities are held to improve the
neighborhood. In addition to connecting the
north and south with the regular events and
activities, a pavilion might improve the
scheduled activities both inside and beyond the
community.

Due to its fame, the landmark will have no trouble

forging close ties with the locals. Redcliffe's South.
PAVILION DESIGNED FOR
MULTIPLE FUNCTIONS The South Redcliffe has a community of Muslims
that look for a place to participate in Ramadan,
and this pavilion could be a source for them to
conduct their prayers. This will not only make a
case for unity but also inspire a source of
encouragement to all the people in the
community.

The pavilion could host marriage and events to

unite people together.

curiosity and play among users, as the structure serves not only for events
but also as a daily gathering space. The pavilion is also designed with
greenery around making the walking paths engaging for everyone involved.
The idea was inspired by sea shells that focuses enerygy inward to a focal
point, where the pavilion aims to replicate this purpose. The stage serves
as the focal point, with everything surrounding it designed to support the
stage this intiative not only encourages people outside the south redcliffe to
come and sit but also the locals , this engagement serves to reconnect and
bridge the gap experienced in the community this also encourages the
community to come together and perform events.

REVITALISING UNDERUSED SPACES
Urban voids present a significant challenge to fostering
vibrant communities. The value of any underutilized
property holds the potential to strengthen community
bonds if put to the right use.

Urban voids encompass unused, underused, and

misused urban spaces, including abandoned buildings,
vacant lots, and derelict areas.

PRACTOR PLAY GROUND The bells pub has been unused for more than
a decade. The idea is to revatilise the vacant
land into a well functioning community centre
with a restaurant.
The restaurant can use organic vegetables
grown by the community, while the organic
waste produced by the kitchen can, in turn, be
used as manure to support the organic
farming initiative.

PAINTING COMMUNITY PARKS AND PLAY AREAS TO BRING A SENSE OF BELONGING AND LIKING TO SPACE
REVITILISING UNDERUSED PLAY AREAS
The initiative, spearheaded by the ADN, is
inspired by the concept of 'painting the dead
spaces' – those areas that could be
meaningfully utilized by the community.

Transforming these spaces through art can

foster a sense of belonging and ownership
within the community. The painting process
itself can become a series of community
engagement sessions, bringing people
together to collaborate and create
something beautiful."
