The instructions must be handed to the lecturer THREE weeks before the start of the
examination and must be used by the lecturer only – no copy may be made available
to the candidates.

INSTRUCTIONS/REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPUTER PRACTICE N5

1. My Documents in the C: drive as well as the Recycle Bin must be cleared of


all files before the next class group uses the computer room for examination
purposes.

2. Candidates for Computer Practice N5 are supplied with either a flash drive or
password-protected folder created on the network drive for each candidate.
The C: drive of the computer should not be used to save these files. The CD
issued with these instructions has been loaded with a folder called
COMPUTER PRACTICE N5/STUDENT FILES, containing the following
files/folders, which must be loaded by the lecturer onto the storage
device/drive used by the candidates for examination purposes at least 7 to 14
days before the examination:

CROWN INDUSTRIAL
KEY WEST
THE BRIDGE
INDUSTRIAL

LONGDALE

RESIDENTIAL

ROSEBANK
SANDTON

3. Storage devices used for examination purposes must be thoroughly checked


after loading to ensure that it is in perfect working order before it is handed to
candidates.

4. These files will be retrieved by the candidates and used to key in answers for
the required questions.

5. A unique COMPUTER NUMBER must be entered into the computer using a


WATERMARK in the printer settings so that PRINTOUTS can be easily
identified to eliminate irregularities. The WATERMARK should appear on all
PRINTOUTS for the Microsoft programs.

6. After the examination, candidates' storage devices must be safely stored at


the campus for SIX months for verification purposes. Do not forward the
devices with the scripts.
