3) “Last Channel” is the column for you to set the number of last laser in the column.

Fig 37 Channel options

Notice: 1) The device can shield the damaged laser channel automatically;

2) You need to manually shield every outputted template.

5.1.2.2 Compensate

Time-delay value

The time-delay value is related to the lens ratio, and the predefined theoretical time-delay value can be calculated through the ratio:

The 2400dpi theoretical time-delay value of UV lens: 3.7075. The actual usable range is around 3.69~ 3.75 and the recommended

stepper value is 0.003;

The 2400dpi theoretical time-delay value of thermal lens: 2.8. The actual usable range is around 2.795~ 2.845 and the recommended

stepper value is 0.003.

Due to the differences of manufacturing and assembling technology, certain differences between the actual time-delay value and the

theoretical value may exist. But the differences are subtle, and it can be controlled around the theoretical time-delay value in the

practical application.

5.1.2.5 CMYK plate

The function of CMYK plate processing is switched off by default; if the screening is not smooth (streaks appear) in the printing

process, you can use this function, and check whether the screening has been improved or not; The recognition of the CMYK plate is

done by the way of using "*?" wildcard to match the filename; You can use semicolons to separate the different versions of

TiffDownload files. (for example: * (c)?? (tif; (c) *. Tif;*. C.t if; * _cyan. Tif;).

If the screening has not been improved, please try to improve it through adjusting the screen angle in the RIP processing software.

1) Check the option of “CMYK Processing”;

2) Set the recognition suffix of the file name in the “C”, “M”, “Y”, and “K”;

Fig 52 CTP calibration

5) Find the clearest strip and record its number after printing;

Fig 53 Coarse adjusting

The effect of printed strip on the plate is shown as above. So you can choose the average value of two strips on the left and right side

whose clearness are almost the same when choosing the clearest strip.

As Figure 53 shows, No.16 is the one which becomes fuzzy from the right side strip, and No.23 is the one which becomes fuzzy from

the left side strip. So the clearest strip number should be (16+23)/2=19.5, which means that No.19 or No.20 is the clearest strip, as

coarse adjusting allows one strip deviation.

Take No.20 as an example, view the strip of No.20 with magnifying lens as Figure 54 shows (Figure 55 is the magnified image of the

circle in Figure 53), the vertical lines are clear in the strip of No.20.

Notice: The figure below viewed by the magnifying lens is an upside-down image.

View the magnified image of Strip No.13~19, No.14 is the one which becomes fuzzy from the right side strip, and No.18 is the one

which becomes fuzzy from the left side strip. So the clearest strip number should be (14+18)/2=16, which means that No.16 is the

clearest strip.

Fig 57 Magnified image of fine adjustment

Notice: The figure above viewed by the magnifying lens is an upside-down image.

4) Save No.16 strip in “Fine” of “Save/Setup” as the template focus or default focus according to the situation.

11.4 Set Pulse CAL Parameter

In the pulse calibration mode, laser is switched on and off at a high speed with 50% duty ratio, and the default switching frequency is

800 KHZ; while the normal mode is the same as the former laser power calibration mode except it calibrates laser power with the laser

current always on.

As the laser is switched on and off at a high speed with 50% duty ratio in the pulse mode, the laser power value should be half of the

value in the normal mode. In theory, so the value in the pulse mode should be multiplied by 2 to reflect the real result. The UV laser

power value in the pulse calibration is 40% of the value in normal mode, so the default coefficient is 2.5 for UV CTP and 2 for

Thermal CTP.
