Discussion
What is a line?
A Line- is a movement of a point to another point across a plane
or a space. It become visible because it contrasts in value with a
surface on which it is drawn. One can make use of lines in the
images to be printed. Artistic ways of using lines can make the
images or prints attractive and interesting.

Classification of Lines
1. Static lines. They suggest firmness and
straightforwardness.
A. Vertical lines. These lines convey uprightness, dignity
and assurance.

B. Horizontal lines. These lines suggest calmness, peace,

and sobriety.

2. Jagged lines. These lines give the impression of violence,

dislike, hatred, chaos, and disorder.

3. Dynamic lines. Dynamic lines signify movements,

cheerfulness, and continuity.

Textures
Textures- refer to how the surface of an artwork can be felt.
There are various feelings when one touches a work of art. These
feelings are caused by the way the material of an object is created
by an artist. It could be ribbed, fluted, woven or carved. The
pictures that follow show the distinct characteristics of these
different textures.
