Students’ writings will be assesses using the following rubric:
1. Introduction: Paraphrase the question. (0.4 point)
2. Overall trend statement: Upward trend (0.3 point)
3. Details: Clearly state the main/ outstanding features: (0.8 point)
- Sales Growth in Q1: Sales increased steadily from January (145 million VND) to
March (210 million VND), showing positive growth in the first quarter.
- Peak Sales in April: Sales reached the highest point in April at 400 million VND,
indicating a significant spike in demand.
- Gradual Decline After April: After peaking in April, sales steadily declined over the
following months, dropping from 375 million VND in May to 250 million VND in
September.

- Stabilization in Q4: Sales stabilized at 250 million VND from October to December,
showing no further decline or increase in the last quarter.

Part 3. Paragraph Writing (2.5 points)


The Law on Road Traffic stipulates that only students aged 16 and over can use
electric bicycles. Many people agree that this is necessary, while others argue that it will
create difficulties for both students and parents.
Discuss both sides of the issue and give your own opinions. Use your own knowledge
and experience to support your arguments with examples and relevant evidence.
Your essay should be about 250 words in length.

Students’ writings will be assesses using the following rubric:


Rubric for Assessing the Essay (2.5 points)
1. Content and Ideas (0.8 point)
• 0.7 - 0.8 point: The essay fully addresses all aspects of the prompt. Both sides of the
issue are discussed in depth with clear and balanced arguments. Opinions are clearly
stated and well-supported with relevant examples and evidence.
• 0.5 - 0.6 point: The essay addresses the prompt but lacks depth in discussing one or
both sides of the issue. Opinions are present but could be more clearly supported with
examples and evidence.
• 0.3 - 0.4 point: The essay partially addresses the prompt. One side may be
underdeveloped or omitted. Opinions lack clarity or are inadequately supported.
• 0 - 0.2 points: The essay does not address the prompt or contains minimal content.
2. Organization and Coherence (0.6 point)
• 0.6 point: The essay is well-organized with a clear introduction, body paragraphs, and
conclusion. Ideas flow logically, and transitions are used effectively to connect
arguments.
• 0.4 - 0.5 point: The essay is organized, but there may be minor issues with the flow of
ideas or transitions between paragraphs.
• 0.2 - 0.3 points: The essay is somewhat organized, but there are noticeable issues with
coherence, paragraphing, or transitions.
• 0 - 0.1 points: The essay lacks organization and coherence, making it difficult to follow.
3. Language Use and Grammar (0.6 point)
• 0.6 point: Language use is highly accurate and appropriate for an academic essay.
Vocabulary is varied, and sentences are grammatically correct.
• 0.3 - 0.5 point: Language use is generally accurate but contains occasional errors.
Vocabulary is adequate but could be more varied.
• 0.2 – 0.3 point: Frequent errors in grammar or vocabulary make the essay difficult to
read in some places.
• 0 - 0.1 point: Errors in grammar and vocabulary severely impede understanding.
4. Task Fulfillment and Length (0.5 point)
• 0.5 point: The essay meets the word count (around 250 words) and fulfills the task
requirements effectively. Both perspectives and personal opinions are clearly presented.
• 0.4 point: The essay is slightly under or over the word count but fulfills most task
requirements.
• 0.2 - 0.3 point: The essay falls significantly short of or exceeds the word count and/or
partially fulfills the task requirements.
• 0 – 0.1 points: The essay fails to meet the word count and does not fulfill the task
requirements.
