1. Principle of inclusivity in line with sport academy
Sport can empower children with disabilities in a way that nothing else can,Sport has the
power to change the world. It has the power to inspire. It has the power to unite people in a way
that little else does. It speaks to youth in a language they understand. Sport can create hope
where there was only despair
Diversity, equity, and inclusion have become the elements that define sport in the 2020s.
This special collection assembled by sportanddev on including persons with disabilities in sport
brings that third element – inclusion – into focus.
Sport has the potential to be a catalyst for inclusion and people who work in sport have a
responsibility to make this happen. Sport is better when its purpose and direction aim toward
inclusion. Inclusion in and through sport means providing every person full respect, dignity,
value and belonging in any roles they may play - athlete, coach, official, administrator, or
spectator. Inclusion encompasses all populations across race, culture, gender, sexual
orientation, religion, and disability. Sport for inclusion matters because it promotes the values,
ideals and vision for acceptance, human rights and non-discrimination.
Inclusion only becomes inclusion when persons with disabilities are not just present but
engaged in meaningful ways. Persons with disabilities need to be a part of all inclusion
initiatives in and through sport. When sport is not fully inclusive of persons with disabilities, it
neglects a critical population that has a rightful and central place in the sporting environment.
By including persons with disabilities, sport also provides opportunities for innovation and
recognizes the range of diversity within the disability community itself. Sport can provide a
variety of mainstream and disability-specific opportunities across the inclusion spectrum for
persons with disabilities.
Furthermore, including persons with disabilities can be approached from the perspectives
of empowerment, innovation and opportunity while challenging the status quo of pity, stigma
and fear. When sport includes persons with disabilities, it becomes transformative not just for
the participants, but also for families, coaches, administrators, spectators and event or program
sponsors.
When we design sport for inclusion we begin to recognize and realize the full potential of
sport for all. It is important to note that when we design environments for persons with
disabilities we are often designing for everyone. The framework of sport for inclusion, and not
sport for exclusion, is critical to the sustainability and the future of sport and particularly sport
for development and peace. The power of sport for inclusive environments works to create the
vision of a better world for all.
2. Principle of accessibility in line with community sport academy
Disability does not hinder integration as people with disabilities are always part of society
.It is for people without disabilities.Enhancing competencies through coordination is a team
spirit.Sports play major role in improving physical fitness, mental health and social networking.
Sports complexes are the base and route cause of all the sports activities of the country, hence
they play crucial role of social empowerment of the field by transforming community attitudes
andoverall development of the field.Present conditions of Sports infrastructure for disabled
players in the world majorly reflect lack of proper planning, lack in structural organization,
accessibility etc. Therefore, the study and research in this field is needed, as this is a major
obstruction for disabled athletes in terms ofhealth, involvement. By offering them a proper
infrastructure and awaremenss can contribute in sense and space to remain active and overall
development in the field. Currently based on recreational activities of the disabled people show
that, participation of disabled players in the sports field is majorly obstructed due to many
aspects. This shows that the intensive analysis in sports and recreational activities reveals the
fact that original sports facilities were tailored differently for the disabled individuals , hence
enabling overall integration.
It is also known as universal accessibility, Access to sports facilities for training and
competition can be a key factor in meeting consumers' current demand universally
Accessibility is crucial for evaluating an organization's capacity to meet current client
demand while planning for future growth. This access is frequently associated with a diverse
range of users, including athletes, coaches and members of the community, including persons
with disabilities. Additionally, the emphasis placed on facility development by sports
committees and local governments is strongly associated with increased general population
participation in sports. However, there have been different rates of increases in participation for
different groups, with persons with disabilities experiencing lower levels of participation
compared to the general population
Facilities such as sports halls and fields, fitness centres, community parks and playgrounds
used for sports are often not accessible i.e., uneven terrain, grass or gravel surfaces, thus
limiting the participation opportunities of persons with disabilities. In addition to the built
environment, program barriers and attitudes towards physical activity exacerbate low
participation rates
Inaccessible sporting facilities also have an impact on spectator attendance. Persons with
disabilities may not be able to attend sports events ,also experienced various other issues
related to their financial situation.
Accessibility have included provisions requiring all developers or contractors for public
infrastructure and facilities to provide accessibility for persons with physical limitations . The
availability of accessible buildings and public facilities has also become one of the criteria for
cities to be granted awards such as the Inclusive City Award and Environment- Friendly City
Award. These awards have become a strategy to encourage competition among local leaders to
improve their public services, including for persons with disabilities
3. Principle of sustantiality in line with community sport academy
Sports have an undeniable impact on society, bringing people together and inspiring
greatness. As the world faces growing environmental challenges, the sports industry must take
a proactive stance in promoting sustainability, Sustainability in sport is considering
environmental, social, and economic factors when planning, implementing, and operating
sporting events, facilities, and practices Using the Every Move strategy and action plan, we
want to lead, inspire and support the sector to become environmentally sustainable, enabling
greater opportunity for all people to participate in sport and physical activity, now and in the
future.

Energy and emissions
To minimise greenhouse gas emissions from all sources including buildings, equipment and
other operational sources, including emissions from non-energy sources such as refrigeration.
Waste Management
To minimise the generation of waste. All unavoidable waste to be reused, recycled or recovered
with no waste sent for incineration or landfill.
Water and Effluents
To use water efficiently and effectively, to dispose of wastewater appropriately, avoiding
watercourse pollution and to design buildings and hard landscaping surfaces to avoid local
issues such as flooding.
Materials and Chemicals
To use sustainable, healthy, non-toxic products and raw materials with low embodied energy
which are sourced locally and made from reusable, recyclable and/or recycled resources
Transport and Travel
To minimise the impacts of transport and travel by reducing journeys and using low and zero-
carbon transport and travel options.
Food and Drink
To reduce the impact of food and drink production, use and disposal by choosing local,
seasonal, high welfare and organic produce; minimising waste and, where waste is unavoidable,
segregating and disposing of waste in a positive- or low-impact way; and redistributing unused
food and drink where possible.
Biodiversity and Habitats
To encourage and protect biodiversity and wildlife habitats through appropriate land use,
management and integration into the built environment.
Social
Accessibility and Equality
To provide facilities and services that are physically accessible to all and to provide a
welcoming atmosphere to all with knowledgeable, confident staff.
Healthy Options
To give opportunities to staff, fans and other visitors to improve their physical and mental well-
being, including healthy food options and opportunities for active travel.
Engagement and Education
To engage with, and respond to the needs of, your communities of interest at all scales from
local residents to global fan bases. This includes groups such as disabled spectators.
Economical
Procurement and Employment
To incorporate economic, social and environmental considerations into all procurement and
employment decisions including, as appropriate, life-cycle comparisons, end-of-life disposal,
employee conditions and fair trade status. Incorporating sustainability requirements into all
supplier contracts.

community engagement.
