We asked three teenage reporters in London to tell us about an interesting cinema they have been to.

Emma

On my friend's birthday last week, her mum took us to an amazing cinema. We sat in the open air on the top of a big
building. There were fantastic views over London. We weren't sitting in ordinary seats. Everyone had a deck chair, the
kind of chair you usually see on a beach or on a ship! They were surprisingly comfortable! There was a huge screen in
front of us. We watched an old film called Casablanca. It was very romantic and I loved it.

Dan

A couple of months ago I went with my cousin to something called the Secret Cinema. You buy tickets and then they
email you to say where you will watch the film. We saw Blade Runner, a sci-fi movie, in a large old building that was
once a factory. Everyone in the audience had to dress like a character from the film and some of the actors were there
too. After the film, there was a party and I spoke to one of the main actors. He was really friendly!

Miranda

Yesterday, our whole class went to the cinema. We saw Romeo and Juliet, a film of the Shakespeare play which we're
studying this year. The film was a bit too long for me, but I enjoyed it after the film when there was half an hour of
questions and answers with one of the costume designers. The cinema where we were is not a business. All the
money it makes goes to a social project in South Africa.
