IPL AUCTION

Event Name: IPL Auction

Event Overview:

Get ready for an electrifying event that brings the thrill of the IPL auction to our campus! In this
unique competition, participants will take on the roles of team owners, strategizing and bidding
for players to form the ultimate squad. With a set budget, teams must make smart investments,
analyze player stats, and outbid their rivals to create a winning combination. The event will test
decision-making, financial planning, and teamwork, ensuring a high-energy and competitive
atmosphere. Whether you're a cricket enthusiast or a business-minded strategist, this auction
promises excitement, strategy, and intense bidding wars.

Event Format:

Round 1: (Online)

1.​ MCQ-based quiz related to auctions and previous IPL statistics.


2.​ 40 questions to be answered in 25 minutes.
3.​ Top 20 teams qualify for Round 2.

Round 2: (Offline)

1.​ 20 qualified teams will be divided into 5 groups (each having 4 teams).
2.​ These 4 teams will participate in an intense buzzer rapid-fire round.
3.​ The difficulty level of questions will increase compared to Round 1.
4.​ From each group, the top 2 teams will move to the Final Round.

Round 3: (Auction Round - Offline)

1.​ Budget: 120 Cr.


2.​ Around 210+ players available in the Auction Pool.
3.​ Blindfold selection for teams:
○​ Teams must prepare a preference list based on the amount they wish to bid for a
particular team.
○​ The highest bid for a team will be considered.
4.​ There are perks of owning a particular team.
5.​ Each team will get one franchise.

Prizes:

●​ 1st Place: INR + Certificate


●​ 2nd Place: INR + Certificate
●​ 3rd Place: INR + Certificate

Rules & Regulations:

Team Composition:

●​ Squad Size: 15-18 players.


●​ Each team must submit a final 11-player squad, and the team rating will be calculated
accordingly.
●​ The team with the highest rating wins.

Rating System:

Each player has:

●​ Overall Rating: (Out of 100)


●​ 6 Sub-Ratings: (Out of 10) for different phases of the game:
○​ Power Play Batting/Bowling
○​ Mid Overs Batting/Bowling
○​ Death Overs Batting/Bowling

Bonus Points:

Batting:

1.​ Categories: Powerplay, Middle Overs, and Death Overs.


2.​ Teams must choose 2 players for each category.
3.​ A batsman can be used in a maximum of 2 categories.

Bowling:

1.​ Teams must choose 2 players for each phase.


2.​ A bowler can be used in a maximum of 2 categories.
All-rounders:

1.​ All-rounders will have ratings in both batting and bowling categories.
2.​ An all-rounder can be used in a maximum of 2 categories (1 in batting and 1 in bowling).

Star Player Bonus:

●​ A team can mark one player as a Star Player.


●​ If that player is in the final 11, the team gets 2 bonus points.

Final Rating Calculation:

●​ The final rating is the sum of the overall rating of the 11 selected players.
●​ Star Player bonus points (if applicable) are added.
●​ Additional bonus points are added based on category placements.

Power Points:

Each team gets 1 RTM (Right to Match) Card and 1 RTS (Right to Sell) Card.

1.​ RTM (Right to Match):


○​ Allows a team to reclaim a player from their previous squad during the auction at
the final bid price.
○​ Example: If Virat Kohli is sold to MI for 10 Cr, RCB can use RTM to get Kohli
for the same price.
○​ RTM can be used only once per team.
2.​ RTS (Right to Sell):
○​ Allows a team to put a player back into the auction and reclaim the amount spent
on them.
○​ Example: If Ben Stokes was bought for 14 Cr but the team wants to free up funds,
they can use RTS to recover the 14 Cr and release the player back into the
auction.

Trade Window:

●​ After the auction, teams have 10 minutes to submit their trade interests.
●​ Each team is allowed only 1 trade.
●​ Trades can only occur if both franchises involved agree to the exchange.

Note : Rules can be changed at any moment by the organizers.All decisions


made by the organizers are final.
