Historical Background
On June 11 of 1937 begins the nationalist offensive to surrender the Bilbao city. Nationalist troops, consisting of 65,000 10 x2
soldiers commanded by the Fidel Davila and composed by the operational divisions of Navarre, the C.T.V italians, the
significant support of German and Italian tanks, artillery, Panzer 1 and CV35, are ready to assault the Iron Belt, a line of
defense consisting of bunkers and trenches trying to imitate with deficiences a French Maginot line. Opposite is a 11 x2
powerful garrison composed of 50000 men who compose the Republican northern army under Colonel Gamir Ulibarri,
also have Basque nationalist volunteers, enraged by the recent bombing of German Condor Legion to the Basque cities
of Guernica and Durango. The battle can be decisive for the future of the war. If the army of the north resists in Bilbao, 12 x1
