2.1. System Setup

2.1.1. System Check

The following explains the regular inspections of the system that need to be performed.
Perform regular inspections and preventive maintenance as below in order to ensure the durability
and safety of the system.
• Inspection of the Screws
– Check if all the screws are firmly tightened. If there are any missing screws, replace them with
spare ones.
• Checking the Cable Connection State
– While checking the cable connection state, check for any faulty cables.
• System Maintenance Checkpoints
– To ensure the system performance and usability along with safety, regular maintenance and
checking the condition are required. To secure safety of both patient and operator and to
ensure the performance of the system, check the system on a regular interval. For periodic
inspection of the system, consult your dealer or the manufacturer’s service center.

2.1.2. Detector Calibration

2.1.2.1 Update Detector Serial Number

This is for changing serial number of a detector and for applying it to its S-station. If a serial number of
a detector is deferent from a serial number in S-station where the detector is registered, we can NOT
make an X-ray exposure.
• Before Detector calibration or Detector use, set Detector serial number properly in a detector and
S-station.

• Detector Serial Number Menu

Figure 2-14

• Detector Serial Number Checking and Setting

Figure 2-15

Now check if serial number in ‘Serial Number in S-station’ is the same in ‘Serial Number in Detector’.

Here are shown all the detectors registered in a S-station.

The maximum number of the detectors is 1~4, depending on system model or options.

Serial Number in S-Station : Detector serial number registered in a S-station

 This is not editable but only copied from serial number in ‘Serial Number in Detector’ by clic
king ‘Update’.

Serial Number in Detector : Detector serial number registered in a Detector

 Put the proper Detector serial number by typing or a Barcode reader on its Barcode of
Detector serial number on the backside.

Verify : verifying connection between a detector and a S-station

Refresh : refreshing Detector serial number from a detector into the menu, ‘Serial
Number in Detector’

Update : Saving a Detector serial number of ‘Serial Number in Detector’ into a

Detector. If the saving is ok, the Detector serial number in ‘Serial Number
in Detector’ is copied into ‘Serial Number in S-Station

 Since Detector calibration data is saved by Detector serial number, if a Detector serial numb
er was changed, perform its Detector calibration again.

2.1.2.2 Entering Detector Service Key

Register your hospital information on the RMS server to use detector calibration. Register
the issued service key in your license. After entering your service key, a service key
update for FSE is not required until the expiry date.

• Enter your hospital information on the RMS website, and download a service key file to the
Product Information tab. A service key is used to disable detector calibration restrictions. FSE or
service personnel can save a service key to a portable device and send a service key to FSE by
e-mail.

Figure 2-14

• When a service key is issued, register a service key through setup. Launch the Setup window,
select System in the FSE tab, and click the "Activate" button.

2.1.3.5 Code Matching

The procedures are registered in the S-Station APR database. The procedures in the APR database
contain a variety of information such as the X-ray emission conditions (examination name, tube
voltage and tube current), the collimator size and the image processing parameters. When you
register an examination in the S-Station through MWL, an MWL code matching is required to
determine which procedure needs to be used for that particular examination.
Each hospital may use a different setting method for the MWL server. Therefore, refer to the following
and consult the computer network administrator of the corresponding hospital.
• Basic Conditions
• All the procedure codes and descriptions used in the hospital must be set in the S-Station APR
database.
• The procedure in the exam information which the server returns during an MWL query must be
included in the procedures registered in the APR database.
• Matching Type
• Match by code
– In most cases, the MWL server transmits the examination information together with the
procedure code. As for the S-Station, find the procedure for the corresponding code in the APR
DB, and connect it to the examination.
• Match by description
– The procedure descriptions are often transmitted depending on the MWL server used in the
hospital. In this case, use the option Match by Description.
• Matching Tag

– DICOM tags that contain the procedure code or description may differ depending on the MWL
server vendor or settings. The S-Station extracts the procedure codes or descriptions from the
following 6 tags according to the settings.

2.1.5. S-Share

S-Share allows sharing between S4335-W, S4335-WV, S4335-AW detectors. For example, you can
use S-Share to acquire images from an S4343-W detector, which was used with the GC80, to acquire
images on a GM60A.
Both the detector's IP and serial number recognized by the system must be different.
Therefore, if there is a detector with the same IP address within one hospital, the detector's IP
must be changed using SDXUpdater tool. The same IP is set for the detector by default. The
hospital's detector IP must be checked and assigned to the detector during installation or when
upgrading to v3.01.00 or higher. The IPs and serial numbers for all detectors must be recorded and
managed so that additional detectors in the future can be installed.

2.1.5.1 Unlocking S-Share

Workstation > Setup > FSE > Option > Unlock

Figure 2-32

S-Sharing is supported only in Workstation v3.01.00 or later. However, this option needs to be
unlocked. To unlock this option, select S-Share list, press the Unlock button and enter the required
unlock code for the selected equipment. When unlocked, the S-Share menus are activated.

2.1.5.2 Adding a candidate detector

Workstation > Setup > FSE > Detector sharing > Candidate detector setting > Setup

Figure 2-33

• Managing the candidate detector list

– The candidate detector list can be managed using the Add, Edit and Delete buttons. The
detector currently used by the system cannot be added, and only the detectors being used by
other systems and supported by the current system can be added.
• Adding a candidate detector
– Activate the Edit box on the right by pressing the Add button.
– Enter the detector model type using the combo box.
– Enter the detector's IP address in the IP Address field.
– Enter the detector's serial number in the Detector Serial Number field.
• Trouble shooting
– The detector cannot be added to the list if a detector with the same IP or serial number already
exists.
– The detector cannot be added if the calibration folder that corresponds to the serial number
doesn't exist in the current system.
• Saving a calibration file
– Folders for storing calibration images for each detector model are under Workstation >
ExternalDLL > SMD > CalibrationImg. Copy calibration data for the corresponding detector
serial number in the Model folder.

• Receptor
– The Receptor button is activated depending on the size of the detectors found.
• Save
– The Save button is only activated when a detector and a receptor are selected. When the Save
button is pressed, a confirmation message is displayed. Once the user presses OK on the
confirmation message, the selected detector is applied to the system.
• Trouble shooting
– The Search button is only activated when there is a detector that can be registered to the
system.
– Search after connecting the Detector you wish to add or replace using a wired cable.
– Please check the connection status if the Detector cannot be found.
– The Receptors that can be selected may vary depending on the system configuration.
– It is not possible to acquire images using the replaced Detector. But images can be acquired
after re-registering the Detector using S-Share function.

• Workstation AP Setting setting

– For versions higher than V1.00.25 (S-Share)
– Go to Workstation setup > FSE > Detector sharing, and enter the SSID value of the connected
AP as access point SSID. If the AP has a security code, enter the AP password.
– Then click the Save button to restart the workstation.

Caution
The SSID settings of the AP connected to Samsung DR equipment in the hospital should be
all different. If the same SSID is used, the detector wireless connection may not operate
normally.
