WHAT IS THE INTERNET?


 A medium for for global communication and
 information sharing.
 It allows people to send and receive data.
 The internet or Net (network of networks) the largest
computer network in the world that connected billions of computer users.
The vast collection of collection of computer networks which from and
act as a single huge networks for transport of data and message across
distance which can be anywhere from the same office to anywhere from the same office to anywhere in the
world.
 There are two type of internet:
1. Local Area Network (LAN)
2. Wide Area Network (WAN)
Basic uses of the internet:

 Send e-mail messages.


 Send (upload) or receive (down load) files between
computers.
 Participate in discussion groups, such as mailing lists and
newsgroups.
 Surfing the web.
 Online Research.
 Entertainment.
 Medical Purposes.

Advantages:
 It is saving our time.
 It is making our daily work easy.
 It is creating much more opportunities for us to become successful.
 It is the source of information, entertainment & online shopping.
 We are able to communicate and share our photos, videos and current situation to our family, friend, relatives so easily
from far distance.
Disadvantages:
 A waste of time.
 It is not safe place for children.
 It create health issue.
 It sometime promotes violence and bad behavior within society.
 Teenagers becoming addicted to] social media site like Facebook, twitter & instagram.
