resulting cuboid.
3) A toy is in the form of a cone of radius 3.5cm mounted on a hemisphere of same radius.
The total height of the toy is 15.5cm. Find the total surface area of the toy.
IV. Answer the following. (3 marks)
1) The circumference of the base of a cylindrical vessel is 132cm and its height is 25cm.
How many liters of water can it hold?
2) The slant height of frustum of a base is 4cm and perimeters of its circular ends are 18cm
and 6cm. Find the CSA of the frustum.
3) The radii of two circular ends of a frustum shaped dust bin are 15cm and 8cm. If its depth
is 63cm, find the volume of the dust bin.
V. Answer the following. (5marks)
1) A milk tank is in the shape of cylindrical with hemisphere of same
radii attached to both ends of it as shown in figure. If the total height
of the tank is 6m and the radius is 1m. Calculate the maximum
quantity of milk filled in the tank in liters. And also calculate the total
surface area of the tank.
2) A solid iron pole consists of height 220cm and base diameter is 24cm which is
surmounted by another cylinder of height of 60cm and radius 8cm. Find the mass of the
pole, given that 1cm3 of iron has approximately 8gm of mass.

3) A hemispherical vessel of radius 14cm is fully filled with sand. This sand is poured on a
level ground. The heap of sand forms a cone shape of height 7cm. Calculate the area of
ground occupied by the circular base of the heap of the sand.

4) The bottom of a right cylindrical shaped vessel made from metallic


sheet is closed by a cone shaped vessel as shown in the figure. The
radius of the circular base of the cylinder and radius of the circular base
of the cone are each is equal to 7cm. If the height of the cylinder is
20cm and height of cone is 3cm, calculate the cost of milk to fill
completely this vessel at the rate of Rs.20 per litre.

5) A right circular cylinder having diameter 12cm and height 15cm is full of ice cream. The
ice cream is to be filled in cones of height 12cm and diameter 6cm, having a
hemispherical shape on top. Find the number of such cones which can be filled with the
ice cream available.

6) A cylindrical tub of radius 5cm and length 9.8cm is full of water. A solid in the form of
right circular cone mounted on a hemisphere is immersed in to the tub. If the radius of the
hemisphere is 3.5cm and height of the cone outside the hemisphere is 5cm. Find the
volume of water left in the tub.

entire capsule is 14mm and the diameter of the capsule is
5mm. Find the surface area.
2) A toy is in the form of a cone of radius 3.5cm mounted on a hemisphere of same radius.
The total height of the toy is 15.5cm. Find the total surface area of the toy.
V. Answer the following. (4/5 marks)
1) A solid toy is in the form of a hemisphere surmounted by a right circular cone. The
height of the cone is 2cm and the diameter of the base is 4cm. Determine the volume of
the toy. If a right circular cylinder circumscribes the toy, find the difference of the
volumes and the cylinder and the toy (take 𝜋 =3.14)
2) A vessel is in the form of an inverted cone. Its height is 8cm and radius is 5cm. It is
filled with water to the brim. When lead shots which is in the form of a sphere of radius
05cm are dropped into the vessel one fourth of water flows out. Find the number of lead
shots dropped into the vessel.

V Answer the following (4/5 mark)

1) A Social welfare Association decides to supply drinking water for the flood affected
people. The drinking water is filled in a water tanker which is in the shape of a
cylinder with hemispherical end as shown in the figure. The whole length of the tanker
is 4.2 metre and the diameter of base of the cylinder and two hemispheres are each
1.2m. If they distribute drinking water to 60 people in a container, each is in the shape
of a cylinder of radius 21cm and height 50 cm, find the quantity of water left in the
tanker after distribution in litre.
