General Instructions:
1. This Question paper contains- five sections A, B, C, D and E. Each section is compulsory.
2. Section A has 18 MCQ’s and 02 Assertion -Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
3. Section B has 5 Very short answer type (SA-1)- questions of 2 marks each.
4. Section C has 6 Short Answer (SA-2)-type questions of 3 mark each.
5. Section D has 4 Long Answer (LA)-type questions of 5 mark each.
6. Section E has 3 sources based /case based/passage based/integrated units of assessment (4 marks each)
with sub parts of the values of 1,2 and 1 marks respectively.
7. All Questions are compulsory .However an internal choice in 2 Qs of 2 marks ,2 Qs of 3 marks and 2Qs
of 5 marks has been provided .An internal choice has been provided in the marks questions of Section E.
8. Draw neat figures wherever required .take π = 22/7 wherever required if not stated.
9. Use of calculator is not permitted.

corresponding minor and major segments of the circle. (Use π = 3.14 and √3 =1.73)

Shreyan start together and cycled at constant speeds of 6 m/s and 9 m/s respectively around the 3
circular track. After how many minutes will they meet again at the starting point?
27. If α and β are the zeroes of a quadratic polynomial such that α + β = 24 and α - β=8. Find the quadratic

into which BC is divided by the point of contact D are of lengths 8 cm and 6 cm respectively. Find the
sides AB and AC.

31. A bag contains cards numbered from 1 to 49. A card is drawn from the bag at random, after mixing the
card thoroughly. Find the probability that the number on the drawn card is-

32. A pole has to be erected at a point on the boundary of a circular park of diameter 13 metres in such a
way that the differences of its distances from two diametrically opposite fixed gates A and B on
boundary is 7 metres. Is it possible to do so? If yes, at what distances from the two gates should the
pole be erected?

33. Prove that if a line is drawn parallel to one side of a triangle to intersect the other two sides in distinct

34. A solid toy is in the form of a hemisphere surmounted by a right circular cone. The height of the cone

is 2 cm and the diameter of the base is 4 cm. Determine the volume of the toy. If a right circular

cylinder circumscribes the toy, find the difference of the volumes of the cylinder and the toy. (Take

𝜋 = 3.14)

A Gulab-Jamun, contains sugar syrup up to about 30% of its volume. Find approximately how much

syrup would be found in 45 Gulab-Jamuns, each shaped like a cylinder with two hemispherical ends

with length 5 cm and diameter 2.8 cm and diameter 2.8 cm.

37. The school auditorium was to be constructed to accommodate at least 1500 people. The chairs are to
be placed in concentric circular arrangement in such a way that each succeeding circular row has 10
seats more than the previous one.

(i) If the first circular row has 30 seats, how many seats will be there in the 10th row? 1
(ii) For 1500 seats in the auditorium, how many rows need to be there?

As per medical science and latest research, keeping an aquarium in the house helps in treating stress,
anxiety and health problems associated with blood pressure. It also provides visual stimulation which
boost our creativity and focus. A beautiful sketch of an aquarium is drawn in the shape of a cuboid as
shown in the following figure on a graph.

Based on the above information answer the following questions.


(i) What are the coordinates of vertex C? 1

38. The lower window of a house is at a height of 2m above the ground and its upper window is 4m
vertically above the lower window. At certain instant of elevation of a balloon from these windows are
observed to be 600 and 300 respectively.

Based on the above information answer the following questions

(i) Find the height of upper window from the ground. 1


(ii) If horizontal distance between the balloon and the house is 10 m, then find the height of the balloon
from the ground.
