INVITING APPLICATION FOR THE POST OF CHAIRPERSON AND SIX MEMBERS
FOR TAMIL NADU COMMISSION FOR PROTECTION OF CHILD RIGHTS
According to Section 17(1) of the Commissions for Protection of Child Rights Act
2005, Government of Tamil Nadu has constituted “Tamil Nadu Commission for Protection
of Child Rights” in the State.
In order to appoint Chairperson and Six Members for the “Tamil Nadu Commission
for Protection of Child Rights”, applications are invited by the Tamil Nadu Commission for
Protection of Child Rights.
The application format and eligibility criteria can be downloaded from the web site

Women Empowerment Department) Eligible candidates can apply for the above said
post (Two separate applications shall be sent in case an individual applies for both the

1.The applicant for the post of Chairperson and members shall be a from the
following fields from amongst persons of eminence, ability, integrity and outstanding
experience in
i) Education
ii) Child health, Care, Welfare or Child Development.
iii) Juvenile Justice or care or neglected or marginalized children or children
with disabilities.
iv) Elimination of child labour or Children in distress.
v) Child Psychology or Sociology and
vi) Laws relating to Children.
2. The Norms for Selection of Chairperson and Members:
A person shall not be selected as Member unless he/she,
(a) Is an Indian national.
(b) Possesses a post graduate degree from a recognized University.
(c) Has not been convicted or sentenced to imprisonment for an offence under
any law for the time being in force.
(d) Has not been removed or dismissed from service of the
Central or State Government or a body or corporation owned or controlled
by Central or State Government.
3. No Person having any past record of violation of human rights especially child
rights or criminal conviction shall be eligible for appointment as Chairperson
and Members of the Commission.
4. The person selected for the post of Chairperson and Members shall not hold
any other post in any Governmental, Quasi-Governmental, Public Sector or
Non-Governmental organization or hold any other position whether for profit
or not.
5. The applicant for Chairperson should not have exceeded 65 years of age and
the Members should not have exceeded 60 years of age as on 01.01.2025.
