METHODOLOGY

The NIPD Genetics COVID-19 test is a molecular genetic test for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 which causes
COVID-19. The test checks for the viral RNA signature to confirm the presence of SARS-CoV-2. Viral RNA is
isolated using a standardized methodology and is subjected to Reverse Transcription- quantitative PCR
(RT-qPCR followed by Real-Time PCR Panel) for detection of SARS-CoV-2. The NIPD Genetics molecular
genetic test is specifically designed to detect SARS-CoV-2. It does not detect any other types of coronaviruses.
