Issue: There is a requirement to create Document Sequencing in bulk.

Although Oracle has given information about this at this link- File Format for

Hi all,

There are three parts of this requirement:

1. Document Sequence Category: Manage Document Sequence

Categories [DOCUMENT_SEQUENCE_CATEGORY]

2. Document Sequence: Manage Document Sequences

[DOCUMENT_SEQUENCE]

3. Document Sequence Assignment: Manage Document

Sequences [DOCUMENT_SEQUENCE_ASSIGNMENT]

If you have setup e.g. Receipt Classes, Receipt Method, AR Transaction Types
etc. manually, then system automatically creates "Document Sequence
Category" in back end. However, if you don't see Document Sequence
Category in task- Manage Document Sequence Categories, then you can use
this bulk methodology to create Document Sequence Categories as well
through spreadsheet.

Note:

4. If you are not sure of values to be provided in spreadsheet, then

first setup some sequencing manually, then get the data from
below SQL tables to be used in spreadsheet:

a. FND_DOC_SEQUENCE_CATEGORIES

b. FND_DOCUMENT_SEQUENCES

c. FND_DOC_SEQUENCE_ASSIGNMENTS
5. To find ModuleType and ModuleKey, search Module in the task-
Manage Document Sequence Categories:

Step-1A: Arrange the data in required columns in below format for

"Document Sequence Category":
Step-1B: Arrange the data in required columns in below format for
"Document Sequence":

Step-1C: Arrange the data in required columns in below format for

"Document Sequence Assignment":
Step-2: Merge all columns using a vertical bar or pipe ( | ) as a
delimiter (TEXTJOIN formula):

Step-3: Copy the last column data in new sheet:

Step-4: Save as CSV (Comma delimited):

Step-5: Upload to UCM (Navigator » Tools » Files Import and Export),
please note the Filename and Account:

Step-6: Run process- "Upload Comma-Separated Values File". File

Name and Account must be as same as available in UCM and select
appropriate File Type:
Step-7: Follow Step-2 to Step-6 for Document Sequence and
Document Sequence Assignment:

Step-8: Verify from task or SQL tables:

Hi,

Here are the steps:

1) Prepare data 3 data files by using this

instruction: https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/applications-common/
24b/facia/file-format-for-importing-document-sequences.html#u30235371

Navigation: > Fusion Application Suite > Common Books > Implementing
Applications > 19 Document Sequences > File Format for Importing
Document Sequences)

2) Upload the file(s) to the Web Center/UCM:

> Navigator > Tools > File Import and Export

Under Search Results select Upload (+)

Select
the file and for Account select: fin/receivables/import (other Accounts
may be used for other product sequences, e.g. fin/payables/import)
Save and Close

3) Import the data:

> Navigator > Tools > Scheduled Processes

Schedule New Process > Upload Comma-Separated Values File

Enter the File Name and Account (from #2) and for File Type select the
appropriate DOCUMENT_SEQUENCE for the file.

Hi AnamariaRoman-Oracle,

and CCC does not allow to put discussion/ tip, hence I used the Q &A format
to share the detailed steps.

Upload document sequences

Summary:
We want to upload document sequences and document sequence
assignments in bulk.

Content (please ensure you mask any confidential information):

We want to upload document sequences and document sequence

assignments via the File Based Data Loader according to this documentation.

https://docs.oracle.com/en/cloud/saas/applications-common/24a/facia/
import-data-into-application-tables.html#s20034960

I have uploaded the file to UCM (Oracle Webcenter Content), but I don't quite
get how to proceed afterwards.
Do I run the 'Load Interface File For Import' process, if so, which Import
Process do I select?

Hi @CA Nirmal Choudhary ,

This is really helpful. Is it also possible to update existing document
sequence assignments using the same steps? For example, we want to end-
date existing document sequence assignments in bulk.

Thanks!

Hi All,

I'm writing regarding the bulk import of the document sequences

assignments.

How can we import the special characters?

For example we have a Legal Entity name which contains "ö" and Oracle
doesn't allow us to import these kind of assignments.

Thank you,

Chiara

Hi @CA Nirmal Choudhary

While loading the document sequence assignment I am getting an error that

"ERROR: Invalid Document Sequence Name: X"

While I can see the same sequence name in the application. Checked the
name thoroughly.

Did someone encounter this issue?

Please let us know the resolution.
