This is a repair kit for LCD panel.

It is including LCD panel and also LCD operation circuit CCK-972A. When
replace the LCD panel, please follow the procedures and precautions in this book.

1.1 Precautions

Do not touch the LCD screen directly with your fingers.

Do not touch the AR filter directly with your fingers.

Perform the replacement work on a soft cloth to avoid damage to the LCD screen and
other parts.

Replacement of CCK-972A and switch setting are required. After completing the
replacement procedures, check the normal operation with the procedure in Section 1.5.

[Required tools]

• A Phillips screwdriver for M4 screws

• A Phillips screwdriver for M6 screws

1.2.1 Disassembly
1) Remove the tilt fixing handle (self-standing type
only).

2) Tilt up the screen as much as you can (self-

standing type only).

3) Remove the screws (M6) from the four
corners and displace the bezel.

4) Remove the LCD operation circuit cables

and remove the bezel.

5) Remove six M4 screws.

6) Displace the module and remove the three
cables.

1.2.2 Assembly
1) Tighten the lower three M4 screws halfway.

2) Connect the cables to the module. Use the

cable ties which is included with shipment.

3) Align the module to the lower three screws

and insert it downward.

tightening
4) Check the positions of the two bosses and
ensure that appropriate space is maintained
under the module. Tighten the six screws
evenly.

5) Go to Section 1.3 and replace

CCK-972A.
6) Connect the LCD operation circuit cables
and attach the bezel. Please be careful not to
bite the cable.

7) Tighten the screws at the four corners. Positions of the

two bosses

1.3 LCD Operation Circuit CCK-972A

[Note]

[Required tools]

• A Phillips screwdriver for M4 screws

• A Phillips screwdriver for M6 screws
• A hexagonal wrench (1.5 mm)

1.3.1 Disassembly
1) Use the hexagonal wrench (1.5 mm) to
loosen the hexagonal socket head screw to
remove the knob and rubber bushing.

2) Follow the procedures (1) to (4) in Section

4.3.1.1 to remove the bezel.( see Section 1.2 )

3) Remove the two tapping screws to remove

the circuit board.

1.3.2 Assembly
1) Check that the S1 is appropriate LCD type with the

checklist in Section 1.4.5.
Mount the circuit board in the correct

position (the connector faces up) using the
two tapping screws.

3) Connect the cable and the bezel.

4) Attach the rubber bushing to the knob shaft.

5) Insert the knob. Fix it while checking that it

rotates smoothly and clicks when it is
pressed.

1.4 Setting procedure for CCK-972A

1.4.1 About Revision:A

The switch S1 is added for maximum brightness control. It is prepared for
the LCD panel with LED backlight.

1.4.2 Corresponding LCD Panel

LCD:7WSRD0002B or before Backlight is CCFL and maximum
brightness is 250cd/m2.

LCD:7WSRD0002C or later Backlight is LED and maximum

brightness is 400cd/m2.

1.4.3 Procedure
• Position of S1 should be 1 when the LCD is 7WSRD0002C or later.

Do not use CCK-972 with 7WSRD0002C or later. The maximum

brightness will increase than other equipments.

When the position of S1 is set to 3 with 7WSRD0002C or later, the

maximum brightness will increase than other equipments.Please be
careful.

When the position of S1 is set to 1 with 7WSRD0002B or before, the

maximum brightness will decrease than other equipments. Please be
careful.

1.5.1 Attache the identification label MPNN46952

1.5.2 Operation Check

1) Check that the S1 is appropriate LCD type with the checklist in
Section 1.4.5.

2) After completing the replacement procedures, start the system to

make sure that images are displayed properly.

3) Turn the brightness knob to make sure the brightness can be

changed between the minimum and the maximum levels.

4) Make sure the knob rotates smoothly.

5) Make sure you feel the knob click when it is pressed.
