COMPETENT PERSON OR INSPECTOR: Person who has the practical and theoretical knowledge and
such experience of the crane and the equipment used in the lifting operation as is necessary to carry
out the function to which the term relates in each particular context.

5. MATERIAL AND HUMAN RESOURCES

5.1. MATERIAL RESOURCES

The following equipment will be used:

- Four (04) shackles with 25 Tons SWL;
- Four (04) webbing slings with 6 Tons SWL;
- One (01) 4-Strand chain sling;
- One (01) crane with 300 tons SWL;
- Loads of around 35.6 tons.

5.2. HUMAN RESOURCES

- The project manager ensures that all conditions are met for the proper implementation of this
procedure;
- The HSE supervisor, Head Supervisor and QA/QC engineer are responsible for ensuring
that the load test is carried out safely and in accordance with this procedure; Implementation on
site the quality task and requirements of the project;
- The Inspectors of Bureau veritas who will be in charge of the controls to be carried out during
the load test and its validation;
- A crane operator to perform all lifting maneuvers;
- A foreman to guide the crane operator during all lifting maneuvers;
- The maneuvers to carry out any handling operations.

6. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SPREADER BAR AND

DETERMINATION OF TEST LOAD
6.1. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE SPREADER BAR

The spreader on which we will perform the load test has a SWT of 25 tons. Its dimensions are shown
in green on the drawing in the appendix to this document.

6.2. DETERMINATION OF TEST LOAD

The test load is determined as follows:

CAM24-0031-QU-PP-015 REV. : A

According to DNV 2.22, because of the fact that SWL of the spreader bar is 25 Tons and 𝟏𝟎𝑻 < 𝑺𝑾𝑳 ≤
𝟏𝟔𝟎𝑻
We find the test load with the formula:
𝑻𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒂𝒅 = (𝟎. 𝟗𝟑𝟑 × 𝑺𝑾𝑳) + 𝟗. 𝟔
So 𝑻𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒂𝒅 = (0.933 × 25) + 9.6

Then 𝑻𝒆𝒔𝒕 𝒍𝒐𝒂𝒅 = 𝟑𝟓. 𝟔 𝑻𝒐𝒏𝒔

7. TESTING PROCEDURE
7.1. EXAMINATION BEFORE TESTING

Before carrying out load tests, make sure that:

- Non-destructive testing is carried out on the welds of the spreader bar pad eyes, and these
welds are found to be in conformity;
- The lifting appliances (Crane, shackles and slings) to be used during the load test have been
checked by an approved body and comply with the following requirements;
- The crane has sufficient margin of stability against overturning.

7.2. LOAD TESTING

- Divide the test load with the crane into two equal loads, i.e. 17.8 tons each;
- Place all the shackles on the pad eyes of the spreader bar;
- Hook the chain sling on the shackles on the same side of the spreader and to the crane hook;
- Place webbing slings in pairs on the shackles on the other side of the spreader bar;
- Unload the spreader so that it is no more than 01 m from the test loads;
- Sling each load with the webbing sling on each side of the spreader bar and lift the loads to a
minimum of 500 mm from the ground;

- Hold the loads at this height for 15 minutes and observe any apparent deformation.
If any faults are found at the time of examination, which affect the safe use of the spreader bar,
then it would must be withdrawn from service and details recorded on the Inspection Report

7.3. EXAMINATION AFTER TESTING

- Non-destructive testing on the welds of the spreader bar pad eyes, and check that the load test
has had no effect on these welds;
- Examine the beam for any defects after the proof load test.

8. FINAL REPORTING
When all completed hard stamp ID No, SWL, Test Date on unit and issue certification and NDT Report.

9. APPENDIX
- CAM24-0031-HSE-FS-011 Job safety analysis;
- Plan EG-PRJ-DWG-STR-OKF-21FCP-511 folio 5 of 9;
- Welding Map of the spreader bar;
- NDT Reports of the welds of the spreader bar before Load test;
- NDT Reports of the welds of the spreader bar after Load test;
- Report of the load test.
