I. OVERVIEW AND OBJECTIVES:
Overview:
Schools Division Office of Navotas City through the Curriculum
Implementation Division (CID) will hold the 2025 Division Festival of Talents
(DFOT), with the theme: “Galing, Talino at Husay ng mga Batang
Makabansa sa Diwa ng Makabagong Pilipinas” Conformably to the conduct
of the 2025 National Festival of Talents as stipulated in DepEd Order No. 009, s.
2024. titled “Implementing Guidelines on the School Calendar and
Activities for the School Year 2024-2025.
Event categories for 2025 DFOT-HISTOPOP in Araling Panlipunan for
Elementary Level was Kasaysayan ng Pilipinas Kwiz. The quiz is open to all
learners officially enrolled in Grade 6, the content of the quiz shall be based on
the concepts of Geography, History, and Culture from Araling Panlipunan Grade
6. For the Secondary Level were PopDev Quiz Bee (Grade 7-10) and Speak Up!
(Impromptu Speech)- from Grade 11-12.
Objectives:
a. Promote the development of 21st-century skills among students, such as
critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity, through skills
exhibition and talent demonstration.
b. Identify, select, and prepare students who demonstrate excellent talents and
skills to represent the division in the Regional Festival of Talents and National
Festival of Talents.

III. KEY HIGHLIGHTS, INSIGHTS, OR DECISIONS:
On the 8th day of February 2025, a significant competition in the Araling
Panlipunan Learning Area in Elementary and Secondary Level was held at Kapitbahayan
Elementary School. The said contest opened the door for students from different public
schools in the Division of Navotas City. It is an opportunity for young learners to
demonstrate their critical thinking, communication, collaboration, and creativity,
through skills exhibition and talent demonstration.
The opening program of the DFOT “HISTOPOP” began with a stirring audio-
visual presentation of a nationalistic song, setting a patriotic tone for the event.
Dr. Florietta M. Quijano, the School Principal of KES represented by the Master
Teacher Mrs. Josephine Prudenciado, delivered the welcome remarks, extending
a warm greeting to the participants, trainers, and distinguished guests. Mr.
Wilbert G. Balboa, the Education Supervisor in Araling Panlipunan, followed with
a statement of purpose, emphasizing the event’s role in promoting academic
excellence and fostering a love for learning. Messages from the Chief Education
Supervisor (CID) Dr. Marco M. Meduranda were then shared, offering
encouragement and inspiring the contestants to do their best in the competition
through recorded video. The program continued with an energetic intermission
number, engaging the audience before the serious competition began
Acknowledgements were made to the esteemed judge, whose expertise
would ensure a fair and meaningful contest. The contest rules were presented,
ensuring clarity and transparency, followed by the announcement of the contest
venue, officially marking the start of an exciting and challenging quiz bee.

The contest proper of the Quiz Bee unfolded with great excitement as the
Quiz Master, with clarity and enthusiasm, guided the event through each round
of questions. The student participants, each brimming with knowledge and
determination, eagerly tackled the challenging questions, showcasing their
academic mastery Their trainers, who had worked tirelessly to prepare them,
watched closely, filled with pride and anticipation. Parents, who filled the venue
with support and encouragement, cheered their children on, sharing in the
excitement of the event. The atmosphere was charged with a sense of healthy
competition, as every participant gave their best, with the Quiz Master ensuring
the smooth flow of the contest, keeping both contestants and the audience
engaged throughout.

IMPROVEMENT:
The history quiz bee was an engaging and educational event that
successfully tested participants' knowledge of historical events, figures, and
milestones. It encouraged critical thinking and fostered a deeper appreciation for
history.
The competition format was well-structured, and the enthusiasm of both
participants and the audience made it an enjoyable experience
Recommendations for Improvement:
Diverse Question Categories – Incorporate a mix of questions, including
world history, local history, and significant cultural events, to make the
quiz more comprehensive.
Interactive Rounds – Add visual or audio rounds, such as identifying
historical figures from images or listening to famous speeches, to make the
event more dynamic.
