Introduction
The thirst for learning, upgrading technical skills and applying the concepts in real life
environment at a fast pace is what the industry demands from IT professionals today.
However busy work schedules, far-flung locations, and unavailability of convenient
time-slots pose as major barriers when it comes to applying the concepts into
realism. And hence the need to look out for alternative means of implementation in
the form of laddered approach.
The above truly pose as constraints especially for our students too! With their busy
schedules, it is indeed difficult for our students to keep up with the genuine and
constant need for integrated application which can be seen live especially so in the
field of IT education where technology can change on the spur of a moment. Well,
technology does come to our rescue at such times!!
Keeping the above in mind and in tune with our constant endeavour to use
Technology in our training model, we at Aptech have thought of revolutionizing the
way our students learn and implement the concepts using tools themselves by
providing a live and synchronous eProject learning environment!
So what is this eProject?
eProject is a step by step learning environment that closely simulates the classroom
and Lab based learning environment into actual implementation. It is a project
implementation at your fingertips!! An electronic, live juncture on the machine that
allows you to
o Practice step by step i.e. laddered approach.
o Build a larger more robust application.
o Usage of certain utilities in applications designed by user.
o Single program to unified code leading to a complete application.
o Learn implementation of concepts in a phased manner.
o Enhance skills and add value.
o Work on real life projects.
o Give a real-life scenario and help to create applications more complicated and
useful.
o Mentoring through email support.
How do we start accessing the Sample eProject?
The students at the centre are expected to complete this eProject and send complete
documentation with source code within the time allotted to us.
Looking forward to a positive response from your end!!
Objectives of the project
The Objective of this program is to give a sample project to work on real life projects.
These applications help you build a larger more robust application.
The objective is not to teach you the software’s but to provide you with a real life
scenario and help you create basic applications using the tools.
You can revise the topics before you start with the project.
These programs should be done in the Lab sessions with assistance of the faculty if
required.
It is very essential that a student has a clear understanding of the subject.
Kindly get back to us in case of any doubts regarding the application or its objectives.

Note:
a) It has to be a 3D animation (Audio / Visual).
b) You have to make a smart and smooth animation with attractive visuals.
c) You need to choose smart and clearly readable color, type and font family for
the text content used in the video (if you have used text in the animation).
d) At the end of the video you need to add one slide to display the developers’
name and their roles. It would be same as name displays at the beginning or
at the end of any movie / serials.
e) You need to document the entire creation (from project planning to delivery)
of the site.
Character specification: -
You can create the character as per your convenience; you just have to create simple
characters with low poly with good vertex loops.
Lighting Specification: -
There is no better way to test your lighting then through concentrated observation. In
each scene make sure the scene including character is fully lit and shadow should
according to main source light.
Note: - Use your own character, you cannot use readymade character your
main character.
What need to be submitted as final output and How?
Upload the following element on Google Drive and forward us the link along with
student details (Name, portal enrollment no, semester).
A. Folder (Final output) containing: Final video
B. Folder (Rawfiles) containing: Raw files
C. Folder (documentation) containing: Documentation
If you are not able to upload files on Google Drive, you may use another site also
which allows free uploading. Before sending kindly confirm if it allows downloading by
anyone (like eproject dept) without creating account in that site.
Technology:
1. Blender/Unity 3D
2. Photoshop
3. Premiere
4. Audition
5. After Effect/Combustion
Execution Plan:
Developing a full-fledged Animation theme involves a rich mix of skills ranging from
project management and pre-production to production and postproduction. Although
multimedia tools make it possible for one person to perform every task, few people
have the combination of technical, artistic, and management skills necessary to fill
every role well. As a rule, multimedia titles are best developed collaboratively by
teams with a range of expertise.
Storyboarding
Storyboarding is the process of producing sketches of the shots of our script. The end
result looks like comic book of our film (without the speech bubbles).
Visual development
Once the story reel is underway, their visual development department begins to plan
the look of the film, developing the style, tone, color and overall artistic approach to
each and every sequence. Everything has to be designed, from the major characters
to the smallest of props.Thousands of drawings, paintings, blueprints, sculptures and
models later, their development artists have designed a fantasy world and characters
to tell the story.
Animation: Your animation should be real and based on the principle of animation.
Modelling:
From this initial design, modelers will construct the digital 3-D model you’ll use for
planning and animation.
Rigging:
The modelers start with this wire frame sculpture that we call an armature that
breaks down our design into workable geometry and allows us to “rig” the figure,
which will give the animator the ability to move our 3-D figure in whatever way is
necessary to get the articulation we want.
Texturing:
2D image mapping allows bitmap images to be applied to a surface under the
control of (u,v) texture coordinates that are associated with the polygon vertices,
whereas,
3D procedural texture mapping 'creates' a virtual texture on-the-fly by using a
small procedural program applied at each pixel.
Effect& lighting:
After the camera moves have been set and the characters have been animated, the
next steps are effects and lighting. In a live-action film, it’s easy to photograph things
like leaves blowing in the wind, waves at the beach or even footprints in the sand. In
computer animation, these simple things are all designed and animated by the
effects artists. In other words, if it’s not acting, but it moves, it’s an effect.
Rendering:
Rendering is the process of generating an image from a model, by means of
computer programs. The model is a description of three-dimensional objects in a
strictly defined language or data structure. It would contain geometry, viewpoint,
texture, lighting, and shading information. The image is a digital image or raster
graphics image. The term may be by analogy with an "artist's rendering" of a scene.
Compositor:
Next, we visualize how the surrounding environment is reflected in the wave like a
mirror. We add foam to the surface, and bubbles under the surface. Then effects
animators add the finishing touch — spray and splashes. When all those elements are
combined, or “composited,” the composite is sent to the lighting department where
we add final textures and lighting to get a complete frame from the movie.
Editing:
editing is an art of storytelling practiced by connecting two or more shots together
to form a sequence, and the subsequent connecting of sequences to form an entire
movie. Film editing is the only art that is unique to cinema and which separates
filmmaking from all other art forms that preceded it (such as photography, theater,
dance, writing, and directing).
