LESSON SUMMARY
RE-ORIENTATION OF CODE OF ETHICS FOR PROFESSIONAL TEACHER
These lessons served as a refresher for the things that we, teachers, should abide. This
helps me remember all the ethical standards that I have learned during college days. It serves as
guides for us to perform our duties as a professional teacher.
It also discussed the legal bases and all the articles related to the code of ethics for
professional teachers. It highlighted all the rules and regulations mandated by the constitutions
on how a professional teacher should act. The roles and responsibilities of a teachers not only in
the school but in the whole community.
Being a professional teacher does not end in the four corners of our classroom where we
teach our dear students. We are expected to perform and act as a professional not only in schools
but also in our community. Teachers are really one of the noblest professions that’s why society
expected so much from us. The way we teach our students, the way we interact with the parents
and our colleagues, and how we respond to problems and situations we must act with utmost
professionalism. With the help of the Code of Ethics for professional teachers, we are guided on
the way we should act, professionally with honesty and integrity.
SUPPORT FOR LEARNERS’ PARTICIPATION
The fact that all learners are unique and has their own level and pace of learning is a big
challenge on how teachers encourage the learners to participate in the discussion.
There are many factors that affects the learner’s participation in the classroom and
teachers plays a big role in making sure that the learners participate and learn in the discussion.
Teachers are expected to demonstrate understanding of supportive learning environment that
nurture and inspire learner participation. Providing conducive learning environment that is safe,
provide opportunity to learn, has access to learning resources to reach the aligned goals of the
institutions. Students most likely participate in the classroom discussion if they feel safe and
given equal opportunity to learn, these boost their confidence if they know that they will not be
judge when they answer in a recitation or discussion that’s why having a conducive learning
environment is important. Also, identifying the strengths and weaknesses of the learners helps in
planning and formulating teaching strategies and techniques suitable for the learners to support
learning participation in the classroom. Giving feedbacks also increase engagement on class
discussions, task performance and behavior, when we commend our students, they are most
likely to participate actively because they feel seen and appreciated.
In an instance that teachers are having difficulties engaging learners in a discussion or
lessons, there are lot of techniques and strategies to explore to make them participate. Giving
different kind of activities such as groupings helps other learners to express their thoughts by
sharing it with their group mates making everybody in the class get involved and participate.
Teachers can also use the art of questioning through paraphrasing if they think that learners are
having difficulties expressing their answers in certain questions. This only shows that we,
teachers, are a big part in supporting the learner’s participation in the classroom. We are the
designer of the teaching and learning process that’s why we are the main support in a having a
active participation in class to reach the goal and objectives of the lesson.
6 Types of Assessment of Learning
Every learner is unique and has different learning capacity. Assessing them from the
beginning enable us teacher to know them and the knowledge that they currently have to design a
suitable teaching strategies and techniques for them. Recognizing one’s strengths and
weaknesses helps teachers identify where to start in developing and planning lessons and
objectives.
This lesson highlights different types of assessment that we can use to evaluates students'
knowledge and skills at the end of an instructional period our leaners progress. Administering a
diagnostic test at the beginning of the school year especially when you handle those set of
students for the first time is a big help for you to identify where to begin and identify your lesson
objectives. Formative assessment on the other hand helps you monitor the progress of your
students to ensure that no one is left behind. Summative assessment on the other hand helps us
teacher to measure the overall achievement of our students at the end of a lesson to know if we
meet our objectives and make an intervention if some are having difficulties understanding the
lesson with the help of remedial classes. It also discussed the difference between norm-
referenced assessment and criterion- referenced assessment, it’s uses, advantages and
disadvantages that helps us in evaluating our student’s knowledge and skills.
Assessment of learning is not just about measuring knowledge—it's about recognizing
each student's unique potential and ensuring that education is equitable and inclusive. When
assessments are thoughtfully designed, they empower students to succeed on their own terms.

techniques discussed in this training such us modelling behavior to learners, engaging them
document established guidelines and consequences, building good rapport with the students by
means of acknowledging them and commending for a good job done, it can be a word of
affirmation or giving small rewards. Establishing a harmonious relationship with the parents and
guardians also helps in having an effective classroom management, to let them know what to
expect in the learning process and keep updated in the progress of the learners.
