▪ Arunachal Pradesh attained full statehood (formed out of Assam)
on 20th February 1987
▪ becoming the 24th state of the Indian Union through
the 55th constitutional amendment in alignment with the
national policy of granting tribal regions distinct state identities.
▪ It was granted statehood by the State of Arunachal Pradesh Act,
1986.
▪ Historical Background: During the British Colonial Rule, until
1972, the state was named as the North-East Frontier Agency
(NEFA).

nominations for the prestigious Prime Minister’s Yoga Awards for

and a Cash Award of Rs. 25 lakh.

▪ The Rajasthan government has renamed two significant British-era
landmarks in Ajmer to honor Indian heritage.

and the 113-year-old King Edward Memorial Bhawan has been
rechristened Maharishi Dayanand Vishrant Grih.

all the expenses as well as provide the gift for the bride.

Vandana Yojana under which, maternity benefit of Rs 12,000 will
be provided to mothers on the birth of a girl child.

will be Rs 526 crore which is Rs 28 crore less than the last budget.

Scheme for MSMEs and expands SWAMIH fund
▪ The Centre launched the ‘Mutual Credit Guarantee Scheme for
MSMEs’, in Mumbai - which was announced in the Union Budget
2025-26 to boost the micro, small, and medium enterprises.
▪ The scheme facilitates collateral-free loans to MSMEs by providing
loans up to Rs 100 crore for the purchase of plant, machinery, or
equipment.
▪ The scheme would provide 60 per cent guarantee coverage by the
National Credit Guarantee Trustee Company Ltd (NCGTC) to
member lending institutions (MLIs) for a credit facility up to Rs 100
crore.
▪ Under the scheme, the borrower must be an MSME with a valid
Udyam Registration Number.
▪ The guaranteed loan amount will not exceed Rs 100 crore, although
the total project cost can be higher.
▪ Additionally, at least 75% of the project cost must be for
purchasing equipment or machinery.
