“
The house of Tiziana Terenzi, known for its scented candles,
presents its first Extrait de Parfum line in 2012. The line is
inspired by fire with four different experiences of journey.
“The hypnotic power and beauty of fire are always present in
our lives, connecting us with great symbolic power to our
emotions and to all of creation. The four new perfumes
embody the four stages of a journey consumed by fire. In
fire, every emotion, every image, every fragrance comes to
life and exists almost independently from our thoughts. Our
perfumes capture the indomitable spirit of our emotions. The
creation of these perfume essences comes from the never-
ending quest to depict and capture emotions. These
perfumes embody the powerful Faustian desire to try to hold
on to a beautiful moment, and the constant exploration of the
“self and the non-self”. The fragrances are named XIX March,
Ecstasy, Gold Rose Oudh and White Fire. The ones that have
“black soul” are Gold Rose Oudh and White Fire and are
labeled with leather label, while the ones with “white soul”,
labeled with wood, are XIX March and Ecstasy.
Ecstasy is a mystical fragrance of “the most intense journey
into the “sacred fire” of the soul, in search of total authentic
in the suspended gravity of absolute beauty.”
Top notes: pine, spruce, stone powder. Heart: incense,
patchouli, rose, violet. Base: sandalwood, amber, cistrose,
tonka, forest land, ancient wood.
It is available as 100 ml Extrait de Parfum.

On my skin it's a constant deep
patchouli rose, pine, pine, incense,
soil. It's very vintage and Christmasy,
also I get a lot of compliments with this
one.

Whoo, this makes an impression
immediately. Upon application I got a
big whiff of something dirty, woody,
and wet. Like I got a mental image of a
mausoleum in a forest, and I'm like
"wow, they should name this Zombie
instead of Ecstasy".
As it dries down it gets a lot sweeter
and the rose really pops along with
patchouli, oud, and balsamic accords.
Seems they took the basic concept of
a rose/oud fragrance and took creative
liberties making it more dirty and
syrupy.
I didn't like this on the first wear, but it
is actually growing on me and I can
see the artistry here. I just finished my
sample and I'm a little sad there isn't
more.
Ecstasy isn't for everyone and I can't
think of many instances I would wear it
outside the house, plus i know my gf
wouldn't like this one cuz of all the
patchouli/incense.
Points for performance, it radiates
strongly and lasts like 12 hours.

for the first 2 seconds i can fainly
detect some pine but then it collapses
into a sickly floral victorian grandma
smell. its nothing like the dark
pine/incense scent i was told it was.
my disappointment is immeasurable
and my day is ruined

It is quite complex, artsy, and unique
upon first sniff. Guessing the notes
blindly, I would say incense is the most
prominent, with a medicinal oud
accord, labdanum, and a touch of
rose. There's something sweet and
subtle in this too, it's a very earthy
scent. It reminds me of Terrae Essence
by Bvlgari, Incense Oud by Killian, and
Acqua Di Parma Oud, something
prevents it from going in that
sophisticated direction, there's a bit of
dirtiness. On coming here to see the
listed notes, it all makes sense. Not
sure if Ecstasy is an apt name for this
fragrance, although challenging, it is
quite an interesting offering from
Tiziana Terenzi adding to their portfolio
of respectable scents.

Smoky with distictive pine and mineral
notes. It's completly uniqe and
intresting, but it seems to lack
something.

I've heard the phrase "church incense"
thrown around with fragrances, and
never shared that experienced until
now. The combination of pine, rose,
and incense makes you feel like you're
sitting on an aged pew. The
connection was not lost on the
creators because they chose to overtly
link the promotion and name with
religious vernacular. The labdanum in
this is very sharp and drowns out
everything else. Some of the softer
notes like sandalwood are just buried
too deep to ever smell them in the air.
The sillage is pitiful. For something that
smells this thick you would think it
would fill a room (or a vestibule). It's
very far removed from a modern
fragrance. Adding pine and "dirt and
pebbles" notes does not make this
smell anything like a real forest, much
less something people want to wear.

A sub-Sorcinelli confection of woody
notes, with a rose incense heart and a
labdanum-driven dry down reminiscent
of La Couche du Diable.
Just the right side of niche-exoticism:
intriguing without frightening the
horses.

@vtothek jeez… that freshly dug up
grave reference... all those words and
you meant to say earthy.

The opening smells like a fresh grave
that was dug right before a rainstorm.
For as promising as the opening was,
the incense note completely ruins this
one for me. Like so many fragrances
with incense in the notes, it just
completely dominates the scent on my
skin. Aside from that this is a moody,
deep scent that somehow reminds me
of rain despite no ‘watery’ notes.
Not a safe blind but at all but incense
lovers will be smitten with this. The
name of this scent is a little odd to me,
since this smells like melancholy in a
bottle.

When Peter Steele said "her perfume
smells like burning leaves" in Black
no.1, THIS is the perfume he was
talking about, this is dark, depressing,
smokey, mysterious, foresty, this is the
epitome of a goth perfume and I am in
love with it. To explain the scent, to me
it opens up smelling of foresty pine,
grass, soil, wet wood, and incense,
drying down into a dark, almost burnt,
smoke, incense and wood
combination, while still being able to
sense some rose and lots of earthy
patchouli, I feel like unexperienced
noses would not enjoy this, but that's
not my problem, I would TOTALLY
wear this, comfortably, it smells
incredible.

I've smelled a lot from this house but
only written a handful of reviews. I find
a lot of redundancy with TT, but also
some that are truly unique and really
good. This one falls into the "like"
category for me. Does it smell like Dior
Privee Ispahan as well? A little bit but
there's much more going on here. I
didn't pick up the pine opening it just
smelled like dirt, but after further
testing I get it.
Lots of roses and perhaps red wine.
Very complex. I also get labdanum,
woods, rocky peat, patch, and a
smokey incense. The soil and rock
accord give it an gritty earthy vibe with
the Incense, but there's something
sweet like honey or a touch of tonka
that keeps it civilized. Overall an
enjoyable niche experience and I
appreciate the earthy,
rose/incense/wood experience it
provides, while also remaining
functional and wearable.

I was enraptured by the woody
opening, like cut pinewood and (oddly)
the inside of an old book shop. Rolling
incense smoke and fresh rose/violet
follow, then earthy notes and resin. It
smells divine, rich, and like a memory
carried on the wind. It think so many
from this black box collection are the
best in show for Tiziana Terenzi.

This one is a bit of a disappointment. I
find it way too similar to Portrait of a
Lady which isn't bad because I enjoy
it, but it's like a watered down version.
Although it opens up very promising, in
couple of hours most starts fading on
my clothes. I prefer Portrait of a Lady,
quality is superior by far and longevity
monstrous.

Testing this today. The pine at the top
is nothing as the one in Fille en
Aiguilles, which is what I had hoped
for. It smells artificial, like pine scented
toilet cleaner, car perfume etc. That
goes away quickly and I get a strong
note of jammy, sirupy, cloying rose,
because my skin always amplifies the
rose notes. There’s a bit of incense and
some screechy patchouli at the back.
The drydown is woody with mild
amber, but it just feels like it’s not well
blended and smells dated. Had some
friends smell this on me and they all
agreed it smells like our grandmas in
the 80s. Mind you, they all used cheap
rose perfumes back then. A hard pass
from me

There are few descriptors I can add
that havent been written already that
would lend any extra insight into the
beauty of this fragrance!
I am sure any note pyramid like this
one would be polarizing. The main
notes you’d get if someone walked by
you wearing this… are rose - classic,
soapy, sweet, but not overly dated.
incense - resinous and churchy, and a
bit of a woody impression. Bit of a
Dracula vibe, simplified.
Taking a deeper sniff, the unique part
of this composition that makes it a
standout to me is the contrast between
dry wood, and the damp/humid soil
note listed. Done with class. Extremely
well blended. Zero artificial feeling, just
divine.
A romance period piece in scent form.

Unfortunately, I was not impressed by
this fragrance. When something is
trying to portray a niche perfumery and
often expensive story, I expect more.
