Farès Ferjani is a Tunisian saber fencer born on July 22, 1997, who competed in the men's sabre event at the 2016 Summer Olympics and finished 25th. He later moved to New York City to train under coach Yury Gelman and achieved significant success, including a silver medal at the 2024 Summer Olympics. Ferjani has also been recognized as an All-American during his time at St. John's University and was awarded the First Class of the National Order of Merit in Tunisia in 2024.

He competed in the men's sabre event at the 2016
Summer Olympics, finishing in 25th place.[1][2] Weight 180 lb (82 kg)
Sport
After the 2016 Olympic Games he moved to New York

He attended and competed for St. John’s University in Medal record

Gelman.[3][4] In 2017-18 he was a second team All- Representing Tunisia
American for the school, and in 2018-19, 2021-22, and Olympic Games
2022-23 he was a first team All-American.[5]
2024 Paris Individual Sabre
He qualified to represent Tunisia at the 2020 Summer African Games
Olympics, where he came in 22nd.[6] 2019 Salé Individual Sabre
African Championships
Ferjani won a silver medal at the 2024 Summer
Olympics in the men's sabre individual event, with 2024 Casablanca team

Gelman coaching him from the sidelines.[7][8]

His fencing club is the Manhattan Fencing Center in the United States, and his coach is Yury Gelman.[3]
