Gitaraan Interna onal Business School was established in the year 2004 under the aegis of
Rohini Educaonal Society.

Lakshya the Sports Club at Gitara an Interna onal Business School aims to promote physical
fitness, teamwork, and leadership among students. By organizing diverse sports events, like Inter
& Intra instute compe ons, the club fosters a spirit of sportsmanship and healthy compe on.
It seeks to support talent development, ensure inclusivity, and encourages social inter acon,
contribu ng to the holi sc development of students and enhancing the overall campus
experience through acve parcipa on in games & sports like – Cricket, Basketball, Badminton,
Chess, Carrom, Table Tennis and etc.
Lakshya Club aims to:

Lakshya, the Sports Club of GIBS organized its Annual Inter College Sports Meet LAKSHAY 2023-

2024 on 20 and 21 of March 2024 at Rashtriya Swabhiman Khel Parisar, Pitampura, Delhi –
110034. Inauguraon of the event was done by Hon’ble Vice Chairman Sir followed by Lighng of
Lamp and Toss of Coin for Cricket team. Hon’ble Vice Chairman Sir played few shots on cricket pitch
to inaugurate Lakshay 2024.

GENERAL INSTRUCTIONS

● Registraon must be made latest by 25January 2025.
● No kind of alteraon in t eam/parcipants is allowed once registra ons are done; in case of any
emergency, permission must be sought from organizing commiee at least 3 days before the
commencement of tournament.
● A college/Instute can send maximum 1 team for Cricket, Basketball, Tug of War (Boys & Girls),
Volleyball & 2 teams for Badminton & Table Tennis in each category (Singles & Doubles &
Mixed).
● In case of odd number ofparcipants/teams in any event, internal teams of GIBS will be added
to the respecve event.
● College ID cards are mandatory otherwise entry is strictly prohibited.
● Each student can only play 2 sports. Spikes & Studs are not allowed.
● If a player, who is not a bon-a-fide student of the parcipa ng college/ins tute/university is
found to be parcipa ng at any stage in the tournament, then the concerned player and his
team will be disqualified from the tournament with immediate effect.
● Every parcipant / team shall abide by the rules of the organizing ommiee
c at GIBS.
● The final decision of the field umpire and c ommiee shall be binding on all parcipants for
every game/event.
● Only the first and second posion holder parcipant(s)/team(s) of all events will receive the
cerficates/ trophy/ medal during Valedictory Ceremony of Lakshya on 30th January 2025,
Venue: GIBS. Otherparcipants will receive an e-cerficate of parcipa on via email.
● If any team/parcipant is found to be indulged in any indiscipline, illegal and obscene behavior,
then the organizers will have full authority to take strict acon against them, including
disqualificaon from the tournament.
● The organizers will not be held responsible for any loss/ miss happening/accidents under any
circumstances.
● Should it be discovered post-event that a winning or runner-up team included ineligible
players or provided misleading informaon impacng results, the team shall be disqualified
and is obligated to immediately return all prize money and the trophy to the host tuon.

and accuracy of informaon is mandatory for each team prior to parcipa on.

DETAILED RULEBOOK
RULES FOR CRICKET
1. There will be 10 teams in the fray and all matches will be knock-out. Aer every knockout match
losing team will be eliminated from the tournament.
2. Total number of players will be 15 for each team accompanied by the team manager.
3. All matches will be of 5 over per innings and the final will be a 8-over match. The rules of ICC 10 Over
matches will be followed.
4. Each team should have its own kit for the tournament.
5. Each inning shall be played with one Red Leather Ball which will be provided by the organizing
commiee of GIBS.
6. Proper and suitable gear should be worn by all the players while playing the match.
7. If st arng of the match gets delayed due to any reason then match over’s will be curtailed for both
teams.
8. At least five over shall be played in each inning of the match to cons
tute a match.
9. In case of e or any unavoidable circumstances due to which match cannot be finished then in this
situaon a super over will be played to decide the winner and it shall con
nue ll the final result.
10. All the matches shall be played according to fixture prepared and finalized by organizer of
tournament and the same will be shared with all parcipa ng teams at least one week before
commencement of tournament.
RULES FOR TABLE TENNIS (SINGLES)
The 1st Stage: The players are divided into equal groups, in a way that all the members of a group are
playing with each other. Top 2 players make it to the quarterfinal.
The 2nd Stage (Knockout): the quarterfinals and semi-finals are knock-out rounds. The winner of
quarterfinals goes in the semi-finals and the winner of semi-finals enters the final.
Quarter Finals: Four quarter final matches (Q1, Q2, Q3 and Q4) are arranged in accordance to both the
final groups and the rankings in the 1st Stage. Q1 to Q4 are as follows − A1 vs. B2, B1 vs. A2, C1 vs. D2 and
D1 vs. C2.
Semi-finals: These matches are among the winner of Q1 and winner of Q2, and winner of Q3 vs. winner
of Q4.
The finals are played by winners of semi-finals, and the ones who didn’t win the semis compete for the
next posion.
OR
Players play direct knockouts in an elimina
on round to decide the winner.
OR
Top four players emerge from the knockouts and then play a round-robin to decide the winner

RULES FOR TABLE TENNIS (DOUBLES)
1. Each match shall consist of the best reaching 11 points first or being ahead by two a er the score
reaches 10 all in each game.
2. The pair winning a coin flip may choose either end of the table or the right to serve or receive first. If
they choose an end, the other pair has the choice of serving or receiving first.
3. The pair having the right to serve the first five serves in any game shall decide which partner shall do
so. The opposing pair shall then decide which shall be the first receiver.
4. Each server shall serve for two points as in singles. At the end of each two points, the one who was
receiving becomes the server, and the partner of the previous server becomes the receiver.
5. This sequence shall con nue un l the end of the game or the score of 10 all. At 10 all, the sequence
of serving and receiving shall connue uninterrupted except that each player shall serve only one
point in turn and the serve will alternate aer each point in turn and the serve will alternate a er
each point unl a pair is ahead by two points.
6. Bye would be given to other team if not turning for the match
7. Rules by GIBS Sports c ommiee will be binding and final.
8. Following are the categories:

RULES FOR BASKETBALL
1. At first there will be league round among the groups of teams.
2. Quarter Finals and Semi Finals.
3. ls will be knockout matches.
4. Each team shall consist of 4 players (3 players on the court and 1 subs
tute).
5. The game of 3x3 is played on a half court with one basket. Half of a tr
adional basketball court may
be used.
6. Both teams shall warm-up simultaneously prior to the game.
7. A coin flip shall determine which team gets the first possession. The team that wins the coin flip can
either choose to benefit from the ball possession at the beginning of the game or at the beginning of
a potenal ov erme.
8. The game must start with three players on the court.
9. Detailed rules are dictated by the referee at the beginning of match.

that s/he serves to each opponent in turn.

5. If the score reaches 10-all, then the game con nues un l one side gains a two point lead (such as12-
10), up to a maximum of 15 points.
6. At the start of a match, a coin is tossed. The winners of the coin toss may choose whether to serve or
receive first, or they may choose which end of the court they wish to occupy.
7. Following are the categories:

8. Gum shoes for playing badminton compulsory. No other shoes are allowed to play in indoor court.

RULES FOR TUG OF WAR
1. Rope should be marked in the middle with a centre line as well as two marks that should be placed
4m from the centre line.
2. At the start of the pull, the centre line of the rope should be immediately above line marked on the
ground.
3. Both teams will pull the rope, the winner being the team who manage to pull the mark on the rope
closest to their opponents over the centre line.
4. The rope must be pulled underarm and nobody's elbow must go below the knee, otherwise a foul
will be called.
5. Each Tug of War match will last no more than 3 minutes. A match ends on the referee's whistle and
the winner is the team that pulls their opponent's: – rope marker across the centre line. – Rope
marker closest to the centre line at the end of the 3-minute
me period.
6. Each match will be a knockout match.
7. No Spikes or Studs will be allowed
RULES FOR VOLLEYBALL
1. Matches are played in a best-of-five sets format. The first team to reach 25 points wins a set, but a
team must win by at least 2 points. Iffih
a set is necessary, it is played to 15 points.
2. Teams must rotate clockwise a er winning the serve from the opposing team. Each player must
occupy a specificposion (front row or back row) during play.
3. The serve must be executed from behind the end line, and the server has a maximum of 8 seconds to
serve a er the referee signals readiness. The ball must clear the net and land in the opponent's
court.
4. Each team is allowed a maximum of three successive contacts to return the ball over the net. The
contacts usually consist of a bump, set, and spike.
5. Players are not allowed to touch the net during play. If they do, it results in a fault, and the opposing
team earns a point.
6. Back row players may a ack the ball but must take off from behind the 3-meter (10-foot) line to hit
the ball above the net.
7. Teams can make a limited number of subs tuons per set, typically six. Subs tuons must be made
at the designated substuon area.
8. Each team is allowed two meouts per set. A meout lasts 30 seconds and can be called by the coach
or a player.
