CORAL FARM
I. ITEM DESTINATION
- Regenerating and protecting the marine environment in Kien Giang in particular and
our country in general, restoring the ecosystem below the seabed, maintaining and
conserving marine species that are on the brink of extinction. Especially (Coral reefs,
Sea turtles, Dolphins, Manatees, Pink dolphins, ...).
- Focus on restoring coral reefs, creating habitats and common homes for marine
species.
- Protect the coasts where algae live, because they are the green lungs of the ocean
(they provide 70% of the world's oxygen)
- Establishing a "Coral Farm" with the aim of restoring the marine ecological
environment while conveying and spreading the message about the harmful
consequences of littering and the benefits of the ecosystem to human life.
1. Estimated Time: Campaign starts from 16/02/2025 to 16/02/2028
- Total expected time of 3 years divided into 3 phases:
+ Phase 1: Hon Son (February 16, 2025 to February 16, 2026)
+ Phase 2: Nam Du (August 25, 2026 to August 25, 2027)
+ Phase 3: Phu Quoc (March 1, 2027 to September 1, 2028)

II. PROJECT INFORMATION OVERVIEW
1. Coral Farm Point: “F01-HS”
- Location: Hon Son (Back shore)
- Time: (February 16, 2025 to February 16, 2026)
- Total area: 11.5 km2
- Estimated total waste from 6-8 tons/day
- Estimated area of Coral Reef: about 1,200m2
+ Still exists: Less than 20% of the total island area
+ Dead coral reefs: Over 80%
- Collecting garbage under the seabed, implementing prevention, propaganda and
popularization of the harmful effects of littering and the problem of garbage at sea.
At the same time, propose effective waste collection and treatment plans.
- Deploying Farm to change the awareness of people as well as tourists.

- Estimated area of Coral Reef: about 473.9ha
+ Still existing: about 60-70% of total area
+ Dead coral reefs: about 30-40%
- Collecting garbage under the seabed, implementing prevention, propaganda and
popularization of the harmful effects of littering and the problem of garbage at sea.
At the same time, propose effective waste collection and treatment plans.

III. MASTER PLAN
1. Phase 1: Hon Son (F01-HS)
- From February 16, 2025 to February 16, 2026
+ February 16, 2025 - February 19, 2025: Conduct a reconnaissance of Hon Son seabed,
assess the level and estimate the amount of garbage. Record images of the quantity and
density of garbage and the level of pollution.
+ From February 20, 2025 - February 25, 2025: Meeting of Kien Giang Green Board and
cooperating parties, conducting assessment of the level of proposed treatment plan and
appropriate, thorough and effective treatment form. Zoning each area for treatment
+ From February 26, 2025 - June 26, 2025: Conduct cleaning and garbage collection in
discussed and deployed areas.
+ From June 30, 2025 - February 16, 2026: Establish a "Coral Farm" to restore the marine
ecosystem and raise public awareness about littering in the sea.
2. Phase 2: Nam Du (F02-ND)
- From August 25, 2026 to August 25, 2027
+ August 25, 2026 - August 28, 2026: Conduct a reconnaissance of the Nam Du seabed,
assess the level and estimate the amount of garbage. Record images of the quantity and
density of garbage and the level of pollution.
+ From August 29, 2026 - September 3, 2026: Meeting of Kien Giang Green Board and
cooperating parties, conducting assessment of the level of proposed treatment plan and
appropriate, thorough and effective treatment form. Zoning each area for treatment
+ From September 4, 2026 - January 4, 2026: Conduct cleaning and garbage collection in
discussed and deployed areas.
+ From January 8, 2026 - August 25, 2027: Establish a "Coral Farm" to restore the marine
ecosystem and raise public awareness about littering in the sea.
3. Phase 3: Phu Quoc (F03-PQ)
- From 01/03/2027 to 01/08/2028
+ March 1, 2027 - March 4, 2027: Conduct a reconnaissance of the Phu Quoc seabed,
assess the level and estimate the amount of garbage. Record images of the quantity and
density of garbage and the level of pollution.
+ From March 5, 2027 - March 10, 2027: Meeting of Kien Giang Green Board and
cooperating parties, conducting assessment of the level of proposed treatment plan and
appropriate, thorough and effective treatment form. Zoning each area for treatment
+ From March 11, 2027 - July 11, 2027: Conduct cleaning and garbage collection in
discussed and deployed areas.
+ From July 15, 2027 - August 1, 2028: Establish a "Coral Farm" to restore the marine
ecosystem and raise public awareness about littering in the sea.
